Soria's scuffling big time as closer in KC, but it's probably nothing Don Cooper can't fix. Humber currently has a 3.06 ERA and 0.975 WHIP. Humber's on a 1 year, $500 K deal, Soria balloons to 1/5th of KC's payroll next season, and KC has pitching galore in the pipeline (Montgomery, Duffy, Odorizzi and Jeffress (2 of the 4 guys they got for Greinke)). |

Why? Trade a cheap quality starter for an expensive struggling bullpen pitcher? No thanks. |

No. Starting pitching is golden. Closing is easy. Our closer is an infielder. And he's better than our closer. Who is a pitcher. ?????????????????????? |

IMO Sergio Santos has more than earned the closer position. I'm tired of taking on "project" pitchers for Coop to fix. Humber is doing a great job and Santos gives me more hope than Thornton, or Pitcher "X". |

He may be on a 1 year deal but isn't he under Sox control for another 5 years before he goes to free agency? Trading him now would be as bad of a move as trading Hudson last year. There are too many good young former Sox pitchers around the league already. |

Humber is doing a hell of a job. Crazy to trade him with DL Jake having problems again. |

Humber's presence allows the Sox to not be held up by Boras in FA with Jackson. That's 8 million that gets knocked off the books next year. |

Yep. Trade Jackson for some help elsewhere at the deadline. |

I think they are far more likely to attempt to resign Buerhle to a 2 year deal, and go with the other 4 (Peavy, Danks, Floyd and Humber). * All of this is 1) barring injury and 2) assuming Buerhle doesn't become poor/Jackson great down the stretch. |

I would have said Sale replaces Buehrle next year but I think Buehrle ends up being one of those people who JR demands the team re sign...like Konerko. |

Humber is here to stay. He is an inexpensive, decent starter. Sale will also be in the rotation next year. A rotation of Danks, Floyd, Humber, Sale, and Peavy is still pretty solid. I also would not be suprised if Floyd or Danks are moved and Buehrle is somehow brought back. |
