Maybe it's time to make this "vote in" guy just for first time all stars?

It's not that Paulie isn't deserving, but at some point as a veteran, the guy has the backing of the coach or not, and I suspect Paulie doesn't want to go if the coaches didnt feel like finding him a spot. Guessing he also doesn't want to be part of this mini "Paul Star" circus. Simply put, the guy is better than that.

Yeah, I dont think this is BigFan Sox bashing. I get it.

A.J. and Pods were guys. Paulie...er The King, is being talked about for the Hall of Fame.

I'm guessing he'd like to play if only because it's a few miles from his house.

Paul Konerko is going to be at his 28,000 square foot home in Arizona for that stretch of time anyway. What's the difference to him if he goes there to play in the game?

I believe Paulie was in the final vote last year as well?

Really?

35 year old who's been there multiple times wants to play?

I think veterans value the 3-4.5 days off more than the game.

I had this same thought in conversation the other day...especially a 35 year old.

He rented out the pool in the ballpark for his high school buddies when the Sox were in town last week. I'm just guessing he'd like to play in the All-Star game in his hometown. Maybe he wouldn't.

Logically, I agree with this. But I think Konerko's the type of guy that wants the "respect" that comes with being called an all-star. He mentioned the respect factor when he signed the new contract with the Sox, but maybe I'm reading too much into that. He doesn't seem to crave the attention necessarily, but I think getting the nod as an all star is something he's after and he'd probably play if named to the team.

Even the "Most Interesting Man in Chicago Baseball" as I now refer to White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham is encouraging Sox fans to cast their "Final Vote" for Konerko. While the whole "PAUL STAR" campaign is a clever play on words, I heard The SCORE's Joe Ostrowski mention "PAUL IN" during his bridge show yesterday before the Sox/Royals' pregame on the 4th of July. "PAUL IN" would be a play on words on the Sox current motto "ALL IN"...

Yes. Its obvious he wants to go and deserves to be there. The All-Star game is a joke, the fan voting has to stop. The fact that it effects the World Series is moronic.

So SHARK! is reporting that Paul Konerko has had his last name legally changed to "Star?" This is very arrogant, if you ask me.

SHARK!, where did you get this great scoop? I cannot find the story anywhere else on the entire internet.

I would have to assume there is some kind of bonus in his contract for making te all-star team. Therefore I'm sure he would want to play.

Who's talking about that? The Konerko household? PK has been a class act, a great team guy but a good but not great player.
