In reality, I think Quentin will wind up in Atlanta based on what I read a couple of days ago. Detroit was mentioned on air today, but I don't see a fruitful trade happening within the division...it's not like the Sox and Tigers are the Eagles and Deadskins.

It makes some sense to deal CQ, only because Kenny Williams was dumb enough to have signed Adam Dunn which blocked Viciedo from a spot at DH and re-signed Paul Konerko blocking him from a spot at 1b. Neither is as desireable (Dunn not at all) in a trade because of salary and length of contract. Thus Quentin is most likely to go. I can't see Williams trading him within the division. A trade back to the N.L. seems more likely.

If Williams said that Konerko was on the market, EVERY team in MLB would be interested you dumbshit.

There would be interest, but No, not from many teams....simply because the amount of money involved and the years left on the deal. Teams that are not scaling back on team salaries are far and few between. If you don't recognize that, you are the dumbshit. A player with a substancially lower salary that does not have years left on a deal is far more desireable. Only 1 team in Baseball wants to take on salaries from stiffs like Alex Gonzalez and sign a bum like Adam Dunn...the Sux. Yes, the Sux could probably move Konerko, but they might well get MORE in return for Quentin, because the salary assigned to each player is substancially different and it makes Quentin more attrctive to teams. There would be more teams interested in such a trade as well, despite the fact that Konerko may be the superior player now. Quentins age and salary vs Konerko, would be big factors. If you READ the last post properly, I stated that neither Konerko nor Dunn would be AS DESIREABLE as trade bait (Dunn not at all) as Quentin. I did not say Konerko wouldn't be attractive to ANY teams. Don't try to change the post to suit an argument that doesn't exist.

I do not listen to that show, except during transition with rare exception. I have no reason to call them. The idea that a suggestion to do so from you might give me the motivation to do so, is laughable     The show bores me as do most of your posts.

Your baseball thoughts are as erudite as they are properly spelled.

The other team I've read about as a possible trade partner for Quentin is Houston, for some reason. If the intent is to trade Quentin in order to make room for Viciedo, then it's misguided to do it (assuming the goal remains winning this year).

The fallacy here is the things that make Quentin appealing to other teams, also make him appealing to the Sock. He's not a prospect anymore, his career year was likely '08, but he's a relatively cost-controlled RBI machine, and his numbers look alot better in this "Year(s) of the Pitcher" environment.

If it was simply a matter of clearing space for Viciedo, if i were the GM i'd DFA the balck Frenchman, but Ozzie would hate that.

i have heard the rumors of atlanta , san fran and philly having interest...all could use his bat. san fran makes the most sense to me.

I have given up all hope of that happening, its just not going to.

They should get rid of Vizquel to make room for Viciedo. De Aza has been killing it too, but we are stuck with Alex Rios.
