Somewhere in middle America

So this Pirates love had me thinking, haven't the Royals been worse for a longer stretch?

The Royals are a team filled with a bunch of guys that make me say, "Who the fuck are these fucking guys?!?" For those that don't know, Omaha is where Kansas City's AAA affiliate is. Most of this roster should probably still be there. They still manage to beat the Sox though. Sox coming off an unexpected series win in Detroit. This division is so bad, everyone seems to be in it (except the Royals).

Pitching matchups:
Mark Buehrle (6-5) vs. Kyle Davies (1-8) Monday;
Jake Peavy (4-3) vs. Danny Duffy (the guy from Dallas?) (1-4) Tuesday;
John Danks (3-8) vs. Bruce Chen (5-3) Wednesday.
All games 7:10 p.m.

The Chen game scares me :lol:

Not sure who those other guys are, but the Sock seems to struggle mightily with obscure AAAA guys.

Kyle Davis is 1-8. That means he'll probably throw a perfect game tonight.

Davies is 3-2 with a 4.78ERA career vs the Sox.

Buehrle is 21-11 witha 3.66 ERA vs the Royals.

The Sox have never seen Danny Duffy, so he will probably only give up a few hits.

I'm looking forward to finally seeing Duffy. He's 22 yrs old and was one of the top pitching prospects in baseball. He pitched against the Cubs a couple weeks ago but I didn't catch a lot of the game.

Since the White Sox don't seem capable of actually sweeping a team (other than in Boston), I think the Sox will take 2 of 3 in KC.

Is that the same lineup 4 days in a row? Did someone steal Ozzie's pencil? Are Coop and Cora propping him up in the dugout, Weekend at Bernie's style?

I like it but he'll probably play Morel the next couple days against the lefties and Flowers will also get a start. It's also (past) time to move Beckham up to the 2-hole.

Stand up triple for Juany!

CB Bucknor sucks. I swear every game I watch with him behind the plate, hitters are always looking back questioning his zone. Him, Joe West, & Angel Hernandez are just awful. I dunno how they still have jobs as MLB umps.

Another great start by Buehrle. How about tacking on some runs for once and making things a little easier on the bullpen?!?

Nice start to the series, gotta keep stacking up wins. I'm not asking for 9 or 10 in a row, but a nice 5 game streak would get them in the thick of things. Sweep KC, 2 of 3 @Cle, that would make for a pretty successful roadtrip.

So you're celebrating your retirement by going to Cleveland? I guess it could be worse. You could go to Detroit.

Keyser, I don't know if Ozzie wants to move Gordon Beckham back to the #2 hole, even though HE IS HITTING AGAIN!!! Beckham went 1 for 4 last night with a run scored and had another RBI in last night's White Sox 5-2 winner over the Royals in Kansas City.

Two other things to consider. Move DH Adam Dunn out of the #4 hole, Ozzie! 3 more K's for the "Strikeout Machine", and CF Alex Rios continues to scuffle at the plate. Move him down, too!

According to The SCORE's Jenny Jones-looking Kerry Sayers, catcher Tyler Flowers will make his first start tonight since his recall from Triple "A" Charlotte. Flowers caught tonight's starter Jake Peavy on several occasions during Jake's recent rehab stint in Charlotte.

I couldn't agree more, SHARKY. I'm looking forward to seeing Flowers tonight. I hope he stopped dropping his glove before he catches a pitch. That is really annoying to watch and I can only imagine how annoying it is for the pitchers.

This is Ozzies way of keeping Dunn under 200 k's.

Post subject:  Re: 7/18-7/20 Omaha

Its a lefty pitcher. At this rate, he'd have to sit Dunn about 4 times a week to keep him under 200Ks.
