At the risk of coming across as a meatball, I realize that the Sox are stuck with Alex Rios, but does anyone else have a new found hatred for this guy since coming to the Southside as a result of his almost .000 batting AVG.? I'd like to think that he is just in an unfortunate slump and can bounce out of it next year, but I'm not sure sure and I'm not sure how much confidence I have that he'll be much better next year.

Scouts said in the Trib last week that he can't touch a slider.....The Sox may be paying another Soriano.

Don't most baseball players with as many good years as him usually come back to the norm? Look at guys like Konerko who has had god awful halves and even entire years. He's played what 6 years now and for the most part he's hit in the .290s. Maybe he's having a bad year but if he hits .285 next year with his athleticism in the field I think he'll fit in just fine. He's not Milton Bradley.

But Hendry looked into Miltie's eyes.......AND GAVE HIM 3 YEARS!

Point taken, but Rios with one leg would still be a better defensive outfielder than Soriano.

There's really only one way to find out if that's true.

Rios according to Steve Stone is an "ALL STAR" OF, because in 2006 and 2007 he was an ALL STAR, This is his reponse to every criticsim of Rios.

Bradley was an ALL STAR last year and thats a terrible deal.

Granted I want Bradley in Tijiuana next year (Cna you trade him to a non MLB team?) but my point is just because a guy was an ALL STAR once, that doesn't make him good.

But you just said he was an All Star twice.

I said when the Sox claimed him, that Blue Jays management was dancing in the streets of Toronto, just to be rid of his contract. He has declined over the past couple of years and has never topped 24 homers or 85 RBI in even his All-Star seasons. The guy is over-paid and his contract will prevent the Sox from moving to obtain other higher quality free agents, that they otherwise might have pursued. One of Kenny's worst moments as a GM, was claiming Rios.

The Sox never signed Rios.

I'll give him a chance before I rain boos upon him. He's got until June 1 before I break bad on him

For the money the Sox spent to claim Rios, they could have kept Aaron Rowand or probably signed Torri Hunter. Instead, Kenny goes and gets an inferior player making far too much money. Makes me wonder if Jim Hendry suggested the move.

Hunter makes 50-100% more than Rios and Rowand is about the same price. I would rather have Rios than Rowand.
