Sox are in Baltimore, but there is something far more interesting brewing...Oney is now trying to start a fight with Bobby Valentine on Twitter: @BobbyV_ESPN wrote: I can't believe I picked the WSox. Who is leading that team? @Oneyguillen wrote: @BobbyV_ESPN what have you done? have you won anything in the United States? Feel free to think about it Hopefully this goes somewhere. This should be an interesting series if only because Ozzie and Buck Showalter do not get along. We'll see if any Sox pitchers have enough balls to throw at an O's player if the situation presents itself. |

The Orioles may be in the AL East cellar, but don't tell that to the White Sox. When Buck Showalter traded in the suit, shirt & tie at ESPN for the O's black & orange about a year ago at this time, Showalter's team gave the White Sox quite a bit of trouble, both at Camden Yards and at U.S. Cellular Field. Anyway, there's a pretty good chance you won't see Adam "The Strikeout Machine" Dunn in tonight's lineup even though the Orioles are starting righty Jeremy Guthrie tonight. There's a good chance Alex Rios might be in the lineup, considering that the Sox CF has had good success vs. Guthrie in the form of 11-for-35 with 2 HR's lifetime. I'm not so sure you will see Paul Konerko in this lineup, despite 3 career HR's lifetime vs. Guthrie. He seems to still be in a great deal of pain stemming from getting clubbed in the left leg a week ago by the Red Sox' Andrew Miller. When he smacked his 26th homer yesterday in the 7-0 White Sox winner over the Twins in Minneapolis, Konerko seemed to be having trouble getting around the bases and was pinch hit by Omar Vizquel in the top 9th. |

So much for Paul Konerko and Adam Dunn getting a rest from the lineup! The lineup is in for the first of 4 with Uncle Buck and the Orioles in Baltimore. These are the 9 that'll deal with Orioles' righty Jeremy Guthrie: 1 Juan "Still Leading Off Until Ozzie Says Otherwise" Pierre LF 10 Alexei "Bat Me 2nd" Ramirez SS 14 Paul "Still Too Sore to Play the Field" Konerko DH 20 Carlos "Protect This!" Quentin RF 12 A.J. "Got a Day Off Yesterday...Whoo Hoo!" Pierzynski C 51 Alex "I've Feasted Off Jeremy...or Is His Name Arlo Guthrie?" Rios CF 32 Adam "142 K's and Stephen Colbert's Joking About Me" Dunn 1B 15 Gordon "Glove Man" Beckham 2B 22 Brent "Doubled and Scored" Morel 3B John "The O's Aren't the Yankees" Danks tries to match the White Sox longest win streak of the season tonight. That would be 4 games...Yippee! |

They won last night, didn't they? While it was cool to see Anthony John Pierzynski and the Jason Hervey-looking Gordon Beckham hit homers last night vs. Orioles' bum Jeremy (or is it Arlo) Guthrie, it was the much-maligned Alex Rios(!) that drove home the winning run with an RBI single in the top 8th to break a 6-6 tie. The 7-6 White Sox winner made a winning pitcher out of Jesse Crain, even though he gave up a 3-run homer to ex-Brewer & ex-Twin J.J. Hardy in the bottom 7th that gave the O's a brief 6-5 lead, and Sergio Santos struck out the side for save #23 in 26 chances. With the "W", the Sox have matched their longest win streak of the season at 4. The real fun came on Twitter, where I got into quite a debate with SCORE producers Herb Lawrence, Chris Tannehill & Ranger during an off air break during the "Xfinity Postgame". The debate had to do with Joe Crede vs. Brent Morel. In my opinion, you can't quite judge or compare the two. Part of the reason is because Morel's no immediate threat to other power-hitting third baseman around Bud Selig's Major League Baseball, let alone the fact that both Morel & Crede didn't exactly hit when they first came up to the bigs. I think Herb took exception to Morel's lack of homers (1) and lack of walks (4), and thought Morel's defense was overrated. |

The Sox have an excellent chance of setting a new season high winning streak at 5 games (Woo-Hoo!) tonight with Gavin on the mound who is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in 3 career starts pitching in his home town ballpark. Hopefully the offense will continue to put some runs on the board to make things a little easier. |

He's ex-Blue Jay Jo-Jo Reyes, who is 5-8 with an ERA of 5.37, but was snakebit for the longest time. The White Sox haven't faced Jo-Jo this season, which is usually a bad omen... |

Awaiting tonight's lineup vs. Orioles' lefty Jo-Jo Reyes, but chew on this from the folks at Stats, Inc. regarding Alex Rios: Since Alejandro De Aza's call-up 2 weeks ago...Rios is hitting 10 for 30 with 1 HR & 4 RBI's in his last 9 games, compared to only a .149 BA (13 for 87) in the previous 23 with only 3 RBI's. |

The lineup is in for the White Sox. You will notice a certain "Strikeout Machine" NOT in tonight's lineup vs. Orioles' lefty Jo-Jo Reyes, which goes like this: 1 Juan "One of Two Lefties Ozzie Trusts" Pierre LF 10 Alexei "0 for 5 in the #2 Hole" Ramirez SS 14 Paul "Ozzie's Worried About My Leg" Konerko 1B 20 Carlos "2 for 4, 2 Runs Scored" Quentin RF 12 A.J. "I Homered Last Night! YAY!" Pierzynski C 51 Alex "Alejandro Who?" Rios CF 18 Brent "Another Position I Can Play" Lillibridge 1B 15 Gordon "I Drove Home Adam Dunn's Sorry Ass" Beckham 2B 22 Brent "Alexei's Not the Only O-for" Morel 3B Gavin "The O's Aren't the Yankees" Floyd toes the rubber in the second of 4 in Baltimore this eve. Do we hear 5? It might be the longest win streak of the year vs. another Orioles' bum. |

SHARK, I'm calling a nickname foul on you. You're not allowed to bitch about Ramirez going 0-5 in the 2 hole last night when you've spent most of the season bitching that he should be hitting in the 2 hole. Pick a lane. |

Terry's Peeps wrote: I don't think the Sox can have 2 first basemen. Actually, you might want to get used to the sight of Brent Lillibridge and/or Omar Vizquel at first base if Paul Konerko continues to be relegated to DH duty due to a sore left leg that's starting to concern Ozzie as much as a certain "Strikeout Machine" currently with an AL-high 142 strikeouts. You may have heard of him...Adam Dunn. Thanks to the White Sox trading Edwin Jackson to St. Louis and Mark Teahen to Toronto in a three-way trade before the MLB Trade Deadline, Lillibridge and/or Vizquel aren't just guys who can give 3B Brent Morel, SS Alexei Ramirez & 2B Gordon Beckham occasional breathers from the starting lineup, they've also been pressed into service at first base, too. |
