Post subject: | Let's Get on the Record: Post-Deadline Predictions |
The interleague trade deadline has passed and the Major League rosters are largely set. It's now time to offer one final round of predictions as the baseball season moves into its stretch drive. Obviously the focus here should be the White Sox, but feel free to offer other insights as well. Allow me to start things off: The Sox will not repeat as World Champs, division winners, or playoff entrants. They may stay in the race for awhile, but it's time for Sox fans to start brushing up on our football acumen. Alright Beardown, Dolphin, Crap, Ugueth, Nas, Belvi, etc., it's time for you guys to make it official, too. Get on the record with your predictions. |

The Sox and Tigers will both have spots clinched going into the final 3 games. It will be a decision on both parts whether to be content and set the rotation or go for the division. They both will deam it inconsequential and set their rotations since they can't meet until the ALCS. Sox win the division and Tigers get the Wild Card. ESPN goes black because the Yankees our out of the playoffs. |

Sox will win 99 games and finish within 4 games of the Tigers. Sox will be the wild card Yankees will overtake the Red Sox for the East setting up an excellent 1st round matchup with the Sox. Angels will win the west and beat the Tigers in the first round of the playoffs. Angels and White Sox meet again for the American League crown. The Sox win again. In the NL it will be Mets, Cardinals, Padres and Reds. Cardinals and Mets play for the NL title with the Mets winning in 5 games. Sox and Mets in the WS in a 7 game thriller. I will not tell you who wins as it would spoil the game for you. However, it will be a team whose name begins with C, ends in O with a HICAG in the middle. |

However, it will be a team whose name begins with C, ends in O with a HICAG in the middle. Imagining this scenario just gave me the chills. Sticking it to both NY teams would be just about as good as it gets. That would put more poop in the collective drawers of the Boo Yaa's than even T Diddly has in his on a day-to-day basis. Boy, one mediocre win over the Royals and I'm sippin' the Kool Aid again. I need more hobbies. Or a woman. |

I'll go out on a limb and say that the WS will again be a subway classic of the Mets and Yankees, causing all of Chicago to fade early in their interest, completely sick of hearing all of the NY love, after a poor showing by the Chicago teams. The Bears will be dominating talk radio after a great start and baseball will fall into Mike Tyson's bolivian. |

White Sox win the Wild Card by a tie-breaker over the Minnesota Twins while the New York Yankees organization is changed as we now know it due to Bobby Abreu eating Derek Jeter. White Sox barely get by Boston in the first round due to Johnny Damon swinging in from a vine attatched to Bobby Abreu's armpit hair and robbing Manny Ramierz's possible game-tying home run as a final "Fu-Ck You" to everyone in Boston. White Sox cruse past the Angels after AJ Pyerzinski creates a voodoo doll in the shape of Orlando Cabrera and once again pulls out witchcraft after a drop-third strike by forcing Cabrera to tackle the first baseman before the approaching throw is caught. Bobby Abreu then eats Orlando Cabrera. White Sox squeek past the Mets in the World Series as Freddy Garcia and Javy Vasquez get Pedro Martinez stoned to beejesus before Game 7 in the subway, allowing Brian Anderson to hit what will be the game-winning 700 foot homerun in the 6th inning. |

I want to amend my thoughts a little. The Sox get within 2 games of the Tigers by August 31. Sox win the division by 1 game. |

I certainly wouldn't worry about Minnesota anymore seeing as though their cool-down is staring down at them finally. However, The Empire is rising again in the east and worries me more than any other team. |

Lol. Speaking of which, has anyone ever seen that cartoon on YouTube.com depicting the "Phone Call to the Emporer After the Deathstar Exploded"? Priceless... but I can't find it anywhere now. Damn copyrights. I'm a nerd, I know. |

Are you guys talking about the Empire Carpet guy? I never thought he was that bad, really. Not much to worry about as far as the Sox's playoff chances go. ![]() |
