Holy hell, this team looks like a fucking M*A*S*H* unit. Let's see, AJ is on the DL, Konerko can't play first, and I think we've found the only thing that can make him run any slower, Humber got killed by a ball to the forehead last week...and then a baseball got hit at him. Peavy's arm is going to fall off any day now, and to top it off, Quentin fucked his shoulder up diving for a ball. And they're still only 5 games out. That speaks more to how bad this division is than how resiliant the team is.

Mark Buehrle (10-6) vs. Ervin Santana (9-9) today;
Zach Stewart (1-2) vs. Jered Weaver (14-6) Wednesday

This is a tall task. Santana has been one of the best pitchers in the AL for the last 6-8 weeks, and Weaver has been one of the best in the AL pretty much all season.

Sox will be lucky to split this quick 2 game series. Not that the Angels are gonna light up Buehrle and Stewart, but the offense is bad enough and now you have Quentin out for at least tonight, and maybe thru the weekend.

They are really going to miss Quentin on this roadtrip. Hopefully he can return to the lineup on friday. Wondering why the Sox are bad at home and good on the road? Here's a good reason:

Home: .216/.310/.385/.695 7 HR 28 RBI

Road: .294/.372/.616/.988 17 HR 49 RBI

Our 8th grade music teacher use to make us sing the lyrics to that song in class. I think she was trying to give us ideas. She hated us.

This is a great battle for the Cy Young in the AL with top line pitchers performing at their best with guys like Verlander, Weaver, Sabathia and AJ Burnett.

Jered Weaver has new paper, as in a new 5-year contract extension. I remember earlier this season, Jered, Dan Haren and Tyler Chatwood, currently in the minors, absolutely handcuffed White Sox hitters back in April.

One would think Mr. Weaver would like to pay dividends at the expense of Sox hitters again tomorrow night...Tonight's matchup between Mark Buehrle & Ervin Santana isn't chopped liver either. The Sox might start the night in 2nd place in the AL Central depending on what happens now between the Mariners & Indians in the first of a day-night DH in Cleveland, but no sooner do they reach .500 or a game over it, they tend to go backwards just as easily.

For what it's worth, the Sox will NOT see Felix Hernandez when they get to Seattle this weekend. Charlie Furbush (by cracky!), Michael Pineda & Jason Vargas are the three Eric Wedge will be starting for the Mariners.

Is Trout still up?

Angels have so many slick-fielding CF types, former Gold Glovers Wells and Hunter look like heavy-handed stiffs out there

He is still up. I'm disappointed he's not playing tonight too.

Still trying to figure out the reasoning behind the Vernon Wells trade. He's really bad and really really expensive.

Fuck this team, fuck Kenny, fuck Ozzie and fuck everyone else.

Die already. Give me a glorious 10 game losing streak and some so bad it makes you shit blood baseball and I'm good to go.

2 runs is probably enough for Ervin against this team.

You'd be more worried about Dunn, Rios, Beckham sucking a fat cock.

I don't think I would. I'm fairly certain bloody stool would rank higher on my list of concerns.

Nice job tying the game.

Tigers have won so many one run games over the last month or so. Sucks. Rays had 2nd and 3rd in the 9th and couldn't score.

But, with the Indians splitting today, a Sox win tonight means sole possesion of 2nd place. Woo hoo!!!! Just kidding. That doesnt mean shit.

Like I said, just try to be 3 games back before that Tigers series on September 2nd. Small goal. Then you have some excitement to start September for that series. At least a glimmer of hope.

Pete Rose does not endorse Howie's effort on that play at the plate. Flowers was standing on the tracks and the train chose to derail.

2k for PK!!!!

By the way, it was absolutely stupid for Ozzie to pinch run for him with 2 outs. Not with 2 outs!!!! This game is going to extras and Paulie is gone. Just fuckin' stupid. No outs. Absolutely. 1 out. Ok. You don't do it with 2 outs. Dumb!!!! It's more dumb when you consider Rios is up and he's an automatic out anyway.
