Per Farmio and DJ, it's Gordon Beckham! lol

They did not distinguish "Fielding" they just said "best", Farmer then talked about a dream he had when Mike Scioscia actually asked him about Beckham before the game.

Dj, pointed out Kendricks is good, but not like Beckham?

Guess those 2 bums in NY and Boston really suck! Ian Kinsler? and Yes, Kendricks, who is a really good fielder.

Someone can explain to me how the ALL STAR 2B are not as good as Bacon?

While Beckham seems to be solid in the field, you need to be a special defensive player, or have some other talent to hit .234! You better go yard or SB's, because having a good glove is not the answer.

I'll take Dustin Pedroia. Robinson Cano would be fine too.

Also Ben Zobrist and Ian Kinsler. So he's at best, the 5th best 2B in the AL.

Will you at least admit that you were listening to the game bigfan, or are you going to once again feed us that bullshit line about your radio- set to 670AM- just happened to be turned on at the right time?

They did not clearly distinguish it was fielding, although I assumed it was as they talked glowingly about Beckham and when you go overkill on that topic, makes it apparent you covering for other weaknesses of a player.

Yes, Frank I was listening to this part. Maybe the 6th or 7th I got home and it was on. Should I turn the radio off like Larry Holmes radio show? I was not paying close attention and would not have even picked it up if they did not make it a longer topic while getting an ass kicking of how good Gordons glove is.

Statistically speaking, Gordon Beckham actually is the 2nd best second baseman in the AL behind the Red Sox' Dustin Pedroia. Going into last night's game in Anaheim, Beckham's fielding percentage was .993. Believe it or not, Beckham has a chance to become the first White Sox second baseman since Nellie Fox(!) to lead the AL in fielding percentage at his position. I'm not making this up.

If you're looking for offense, Pedroia & the Yankees' Robinson Cano are far and away better than Beckham. Even I will admit that right here, right now.

Every other MLB second baseman.

You better HOPE that Beckham becomes as solid as Darwin Barney someday.

I agree. What a bunch of bullshit. A bunch of geeks making up stuff. Stop talking this WAR garbage unless you can specifically tell me how a replacement level player is arrived at. C'mon- doesn't it matter what 400K players you consider? And that position adjustment is too damn high. I'd much rather base my all my analysis on the what the crusty 'ole scout has to say after watching a player for a series or two!

I am sorry but the crusty 'ole Jim Hendry was not available to give you his analysis.
that position adjustment is too damn high...these are all second basemen and the position adjustment is the same for all of them.

Right now, anyone would, 312. However, the jury is out on whether Darwin Barney is really the Cubs' second baseman long term. The guy they were hoping to be the Cubs' second baseman going into this season was Blake DeWitt, and look what's happened there. I've heard DeWitt and Beckham mentioned in the same breath as far as comparisons are concerned, but Barney? Slow your roll...

Barney

.290 BA 2 HR 37 RBIs .327 OBP .695 OPS 90 OPS+ .980 FP

Yep you are right SHARK, definitely slow your roll. Barney is better.

Dewitt is firmly attached to Quade's nuts so when he gets fired Dewitt will follow. He actually isn't even that old....I think he is within a yr of age of Barney but that god damn Al Boreland he is sporting makes him look 38.

I think you mean Richard Karn, the actor who played "Al" on "Home Improvement" in the '90s and hosted "Family Feud" from 2003-2006 in syndication. Blake DeWitt does have an Al-like beard, but nothing as hideous as the Giants' Brian Wilson has.

Speaking of hair, I wonder if Beckham needs a haircut from the folks that did Joe Crede & A.J. Pierzynski's hair about 5 years ago...Just a thought.

No, RP Bryan. Richard Dawson was the original host of "Family Feud" from 1976-85 on ABC, followed by the late Ray Combs from 1988-94 before Dawson briefly came back that summer on CBS. Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, John O'Hurley and the current host, Steve Harvey, have hosted the syndicated "Feud" starting in 1999. GSN, DIRECTV 233, airs the "Feud" quite a bit. They don't air the Dawson '94 or the Anderson episodes, just so you know...

For the record, Richard Dawson was on a show called "Hogan's Heroes" from 1965-71 before becoming a regular panelist on "Match Game" from 1973-78 on CBS before devoting full time to the "Feud", I believe in 1979. Dawson never had a thick beard like Richard Karn.
