I'm sure he wants out of Kenny, but I don't think you sabotage the team unless you are real certain that you have a job somewhere else. And you would have to be real, real certain. I think to some degree you put Dunn up just to illustrate that Kenny's the problem, not yourself. And I think that is unfair to a large degree because Kenny or no Kenny, any team would have picked up Dunn as a free agent. It is not a humanly able function to predict he would have fallen as far as he did this year.
If I were Ozzie, I would probably try to find ways to highlight the difference between Kenny and himself in an effort to preserve his position and get rid of Kenny. I think his whole speech about being the face of the franchise has more than just a kernel of truth to it, and if I were to be a guessing man, I could see them kicking Kenny bye-bye and signing Guillen to a two year term. To a large degree, all year long Guillen has been asking for the youth movement to hit the major leagues, and Kenny has been reluctant to do so. In reality, Kenny should be vindicated by Pierre's late season stats, but I think people were pretty much tuned out to the details by then. Plus someone has to answer for Rios and Dunn not being replaced earlier on. I think that should be Kenny, and I think I give Ozzie a two year deal to keep him around and give the new GM time to dig into his position, at which point he should be able to fire him easily and move on with the organization.
