Wow. Never thought they would finish 10+ games back.

Its time for Ozzie and Kenny to go.

I'm starting to lean in that direction. I think I would mind less if Kenny sticks around, though.

Ozzie wasn't the one out there hitting .160, blowing games in April, and on the DL (peavy), but he made a lot of dumb moves this year.

You go back the last few seasons at look at some of Kenny's moves (Teahan, trading Hudson to get Dunn, getting Jackson to get Dunn, etc, Rios, trading Gio Gonzalez- twice) and he hasn't done much good either.

Its really sad on a lot of different fronts.

For the record, the Sox were up 5-2 in the 9th today, Sale and Santos both gave up HRs, and then Santos gave up a run in the 13th.

2 weeks ago I didn't think the Tigers were all that good, but yikes they sure are getting hot at the right time.

I think Uncle Jerry has already made up his mind. The Ozzie/Kenny relationship is beyond repair, and even though Ozzie has a contract for next year, someone's gotta go as a direct result. They had only 19,000+ tickets sold for the finale of this series with the soon-to-be AL Central Champs from Detroit and this "ALL IN" team is losing money with all the empty seats disguised as fans. Someone has to pay the price, and I don't think Uncle Jerry will stop Ozzie from taking on his next challenge, managing the soon-to-be renamed Miami Marlins and moving into their new ballpark.

The lineups Ozzie has penciled out lately have been not necessarily putting out the best players to win ballgames, but a big "F--- you" to Kenny for overspending on this uneven roster.

I refuse to blame Kenny for Dunn and Peavy. Rios maybe. The Teahan thing was just stupid. ..

Teahan was a bad trade and a bad signing. Peavy was hurt when they got him.

Nobody thought Dunn or Rios would be this bad.
There are still a lot of moves over the last 3-4 years that did not work out at all.

Krazy, you want Chris Getz back in the offseason to challenge Gordon Beckham for the second base job? That deal that sent Getz & Joshua Fields for Mark Teahen with the Royals made no sense at all.

Can Chris Getz hit more than .230? If so, he would be a challenge.

At this point I'll take Jeff Baker over Beckham.

anyone got a stat for ozzie's september records? second half records? People always say his teams don't quit on him. They may not quit but they sure seem to limp down the stretch.

Guillen says that players have lost the fight. For the last three days.

Who is responsible for that, Oz?

Blame the players, you blame Kenny. You're going to run out of people to blame.

Talk about a team rolling over and quitting on a season. Way to go fellas!

Ozzie and Kenny should both be gone.

To be fair, the Sox rolled over and died last week.

This was just the pissing on the grave.

August is usually pretty brutal for the Sox as well. Which is another strange thing about this year because August was probably their best month record wise.

Always strange things, unexplained issues, just one of those things, bad calls, bad domes, bad hops, bad fans, never the Sox fault for sucking.

Regardless of who's fault it is - one of them as to go. It's probably easier to get rid of Ozzie and start with a new manager. Walker is on borrowed time and the only guy I'd want back on the current staff is Coop only because he can usually make something out of a turd.

not bad at 105-102 .507...not good but not as bad as it seemed to be...71-78 .476 since the world series though

Walker should have been gone earlier this year to be honest. The base coaches can stay, esepcially Cox. He is very good at 3rd base. I think Cora is fine as the bench coach, but I don't think he sticks around without Ozzie, unless they make him manager. But would Cora just be 'Ozzie light'?

I remember that Joey Cora was on the list to fill the managerial vacancy in Seattle. I'm not sure he was a finalist last year or the year before, but Cora did get passed over for Don Wakamaksu(sp?) & now Eric Wedge by Mariners' brass.

Joey Cora is the MLB version of Ron Rivera. Teams interview him to keep up appearances without any intention of hiring him.

Ozzie's popularity has been a myth since the day he was hired to coach. His teammates didn't particularly like him as a player. This was especially true of Frank Thomas which caused the friction when he became the manager. When he left town as a player he mf'ed the fans up and down. Long time fans remembered that. Suddenly, he gets hired as a manager and he is some beloved figure. How many times has the team referred to him as the face of the franchise. Ticket plans are named after him. He even believes this story line. The truth is most fans want him gone and no one ever bought at ticket or watched a game because of him.

Hate to say it, but that is all true...
