All in is stupid. All in implies that the players didn't give 100% before, but now because of this wonderful marketing slogan, they will try 100%.

They never had the horses to do it. Dunn was an epic disappointment. That alone could derail a team, but Rios didn't help and nobody stepped up with a stellar year.

They need to change something. Even if they do, a lot of next year depends on Dunn rebounding. If he doesn't, which I think has to be a 50/50 shot, then next year is shot too and you need to consider letting him walk. Sox will be down in payroll next year for certain. I have to think it is Detroit's to lose next year. Sox can challenge if things go the right way, but realistically, next year needs to be a time to get your books in check. And guess what, 2013 doesn't look good either as far as that goes, but I think chances are the GM will blame an ex-GM for that situation.

I don't really believe that. They can probably generate enough offense without him. The thing is, they have to make the call to swallow him relatively quickly if he starts next season the same way. And at $15 million for three more seasons that's going to be tough and painful to do.

I imagine DeAza has done enough that he's going to get the first shot at leading off and playing left (or center, depending on what else happens). And I don't see who else they could get to lead off, especially if Ozzie is back and the old-fashioned lead-off man is a philosophy they embrace. You're stuck with Rios in center (or maybe right). We'll see what happens with Quentin. I suspect he may be gone and Viciedo will probably be in right. There's a lot of "ifs" there.

On paper, that's right. But Verlander is going to be ridden hard in the postseason and the first time he went more than 200 innings (2007), he wasn't quite the same the following season. Granted, he has looked like he's made of steel since then, but this year he may be close to 300 innings depending on how they do. The deeper they go the more of a toll it will take on their pitching.

I guess I was saying that assuming that they would not be able to pull the plug on playing him. I think that it makes sense to pull him out of the lineup if he continues to hit the way he currently is hitting, but even with a new GM and/or manager, I can't see them letting that much money sit on the bench... at least before the all-star break. And if you haven't taken care of it by then, the odds of you being in the race are greatly diminished.

Viciedo is 0 for his last 12 and the pile of shit that is Ozzie Guillen called him out. Is he the first rookie ever to go 0-12? He's still hitting .286/.375/.349 which is WORLDS better than what Ozzie was penciling in the lineup everyday (and in the 3-hole for the first four months of the season).

I'll always love Ozzie for winning a World Series but his stubbornness has turned him into a bad manager and his time here is over.

Blaming Ozzie for batting Dunn 3rd is just plain assinine. Where's your hate for Cotton Club Kenny?Ozzie is better than anything thats out there. He called out Beckham also ( another one that Kenny brought up to soon) Next year give the managerial job to Buddy Bell,Bob Brenly, or whoever you want. This team will be even worse next year, and the year after. Not because ozzie, but Kenny. Lots of bad paper out there.

Ozzie put Dunn's name on the lineup card every day, not Kenny. This team is loaded with bad contracts and the future does not look good. I do not get the Buddy Bell love. What has he proven as a manager?

Rios and Dun deserve a lot of the blame on this, but the golden boy Beckham, while making plays at 2nd his a major disappointment. 2 full years and his bat is nothing but a wooded stick of suck. I would like to know how many running GB has left on base this year, willing to bet more then Dunn or Rios.

What? Nowhere did Keyser say Viciedo was the saviour or second coming. He said he's better than Dunn/Rios.

How is that wrong?

Just have to wonder how much money Reinsdouche has lost this season financing the latest "Pretend to Contend" Kenny Williams pile of shit? This has been 5 years running of an offense that shoves its thumb up its ass and waits for a home run. This has been painful and brutal, but I'm glad an assclown like Keyser can find all the fault in the Manager and not these miscast players that Williams provides him with.

Peeps, exactly how many years does this Kenny Williams monstrosity have to be under .500 against the American League and the A.L. Central before some of our Fanboys realize the Sox may not actually be good?
This idea that a team under .500 in July and August is somehow a World Series Champion lying in wait proves there is good acid on the streets.

The team is going to be denuded during the off season. The manager won't matter. The GM will have to make some tough decisions including not signing Buehrle and trading away guys like Konerko. I don't like KW making trades as he always seems to give up too much

Take comfort in the fact that Reinsdouche is far more concerned with the chaos in his organization and playing the role of Ward Cleaver than he is in the product on the field or asses in the stands.

I wonder how the lack of Bulls revenue for JR and many of his investors will affect the Sox off season.

Personally, I think this is a fire sale off season. It pains me to say this but let Paulie find a team that will get him back to the playoffs with the national spotlight he deserves.

Dumb Ass Rah Rah Williams is on record saying he never rebuilds....what an absolute clown.....Well, if Chairman Dr. Phil Reinsdouche has lost $40-$60 million with this latest debacle....Dumb Ass Kenny may have no choice...or even better, maybe he will quit....

Bob's all butt hurt because I called him out for his idiotic statement about Ozzie having to get away from the lunacy (wow that was dumb). I usually just laugh at his stupid old man ramblings and move on but that one was especially stupid and I just couldn't let it go.

For the record, Jerry Reinsdorf may be the Owner/Chairman of the White Sox & the Bulls, but he treats his teams as separate entities financially.

As for the upcoming offseason with the White Sox, there's no question about it. Uncle Jerry wants payroll trimmed, even though he has three financial albatrosses hanging over his team's neck for the forseeable future in stiffs such as DH Adam Dunn, CF Alex Rios & injury-prone P Jake Peavy.

As a result, unless your names are Dunn, Rios & Peavy, there could be quite a bit of change on this uneven roster. Mark Buehrle could be pitching for his hometown Cardinals, RF Carlos Quentin, pitchers Gavin Floyd & John Danks all could be dealt. C A.J. Pierzynski and 1B Paul Konerko might be under contract next year, but those 2 could also be dealt. I don't know if it'll be as extreme as what the Miami Marlins did the year after winning it all in 2003, but these White Sox might look a lot different in addition to someone other than Ozzie filling out the lineup card.

they have many of the same investors. bigfan has detailed how JR has made bulls investors pony up for white sox spending based on bulls profits

The Bulls and White Sox may be separate entities on paper, but there's no doubt the Bulls basically exist to be a big sugar daddy for the White Sox, funding their fast-paced, Alex Rios-based lifestyle that they would otherwise lack the wherewithal to have. The Bulls are the most profitable team in the NBA. The Sox will look different without that sweet Bulls money keeping them afloat.

Yeah, the Bulls only exist for that reason.

More money flows into the Bulls than comes out. More money comes out of the White Sox than comes in. One world championship in baseball is worth more to the common owner than six world championships in basketball. This all seems like simple math to me (except for the 1 > 6 part, which I'm still chewing on). I'm not even stating anything that numerous people here haven't said a hundred times before, which is that the White Sox owe a great deal of their spending to the Bulls' largesse.

But I'll stay out of White Sox business for you! :)

In 2010, the White Sox had revenue of $194 mil according to Forbes.
In 2010, the Chicago Bulls had revenue of $169 mil according to Forbes.

That looks like the Bulls are subsidizing the Sox doesn't it.
