6 home runs in his last 14 games. He's played very good defense all year and it's nice to see his power stroke finally show up. This Kid's going to be just fine. |

I hope so. Maybe next year do it before being eliminated. |

Production when the season is over. No thanks. At best he will never be more than an average player. |

I hope you're right. I just have nightmares of him being Chris Snopek. |

Post subject: | Re: Brent Morel |
Nah. Snopek didn't have near the glove Morel has. That alone will buy Morel plenty of time to figure things out at the plate and I think he will. |

Aramis Ramirez. no doubt... morel has a much brighter future than beckham at a more difficult defensive position to play..and play very well |

? to start last season Beckham had the brightest future of any player in recent memory? Now Morel has a brighter future? |

i never bought into gordon beckham hype and face of the franchise after 400 at bats...but i am buying into morel...i see morel next season hitting 270 ish with 12-15 home runs and an excellent glove..wish he were on the cubs |

Another home run for Morel last night. He's now hitting .271/.400/.671/1.071 in September. |

bigfan wrote: ? to start last season Beckham had the brightest future of any player in recent memory? Now Morel has a brighter future? Yeah really. I watched a lot of Morel, and the Sox will be lucky if he's average. The only good thing about him is his glove. He better develop 20+ HR power if he's going to bat .250. |

i think morel will be a 20 hr guy in 2 years and hit 270 plus...and be a gold glover at 3rd.. what more can you ask for? |

Post subject: | Re: Brent Morel |
He's hit 13 home runs in 463 career at bats. I don't think developing 20 home run power is much of a stretch. |

Cubs once had a guy that hit 20 HR's, 6'3" big strong chest. 1st round pick! Did it in 358 AB's! Actually still have him |

I saw something comparing his progress with that of the Twins 3B Valencia. |

You would love for Morel to have the career Aramis has had. Too bad it will never happen, not even come close. |

I'd love it more if Morel could muster up more than 3 HRs during the first 8 weeks of the season. |
