can you think of any justification why he should get a single at bat since the Tigers clinched...and yet. This is where a functional GM tells his manager that they are now in a youth movement |

The problem is that the manager won't listen to the functioning GM, and the owner won't let the GM can the manager with 2 weeks to go. |

If asked Ozzie would probably play the "respect the game" card. |

Pierre didn't start tonight. He was inserted late in the game for defensive purposes. Fuckin Ozzie |

Fuckin Ozzie Are you laughing because it is hillarious that he would be a defensive replacement, that you would need a defensive replacement while up 4+ runs or that the time would be better reserved for someone who will be on the team next year? When did the Tigers clinch? |

Despite what GM Ken Williams specifically said a few weeks ago in which Ozzie should play the best guys regardless of how much money they make, Ozzie's basically flipping a big "F--- You" to those who still care about White Sox baseball, even though a week has nearly passed since the Tigers officially clinched the AL Central out in Oakland. He doesn't give a damn what Kenny said and it's not just Juan Pierre. A.J. Pierzynski continues to get the bulk of the catching work, Alex Rios in center field and Adam Dunn, who is now 8 strikeouts away from tying Dave Nicholson's 1963 franchise record for K's in a single season. Dunn has 167, while Nicholson had 175 to set the club record. Alejandro De Aza continues to build a case to be an everyday player on the 2012 White Sox, and the fact he lead off yesterday in Cleveland may be a sign of things to come moving forward. |

The fact that Pierre is one of Ozzie's favorites is obvious. He is the kind of player Ozzie covets. Whether it makes sense or not, Ozzie will play guys that give him the best chance to win. He would rather finish in 2nd place than behind the Indians and in 3rd. As bad as their record is, I don't think it means much, but I think to Ozzie it matters. |

Good to see you are staying classy with that signature, steve. Very mature thing you have going there. |

The quotes are consistent....With either team it doesn't mean a great deal, but it's better than finishing lower. I don't think Ozzie is gonna be happy with a below .500 (currently 76-80) club, whether they finish in 2nd or 3rd place. But that said, I'm sure he would still prefer 2nd. |
