Post subject:  The Irreplaceable Ozzie

The Sox have not had a manager with a losing record during his coaching rein in 22 years. There has been only one manager with a losing record during his coaching years in 32 years. Those years include brain dead bafoons like Terry Bevington (.509), sphynx's like Gene Lamont (.551) and Jerry Manuel (.515) geniuses like LaRussa (.506) and more vocal leaders like Ozzie (.524) and Jeff Torborg (.515). There have certainly been some lean years in terms of talent in the past 32 years but almost all these managers ended up winning at a fairly similar rate.

Ozzie can claim a World Series which is the ultimate check mate. However, should we really expect much of a difference in regular season production subsequent to his being traded given this huge sample size of production?

I'm assuming you mean 32 years
