He's probably trying to appease the fans who are still pissed they didn't sign Thome a few years ago when they should have.

I don't know that I agree with it only because he's such a "swing for the fences" guy, but if he can help the guys with bloop hits and opposite field stuff, or just basic mental issues and slumps, then I guess it cant hurt. Especially if so many believe that the hitting coach is pointless anyway.

Considering Thome can still hit better than most of the Sox players I believe making him a player coach would be a great idea.

Good point. Agreed.

Is it Jerry & Kennys goal to have an entire coaching staff comprised of rookie coaches? Didn't they just move a couple of coaches up from to minor leagues to coach 1st & 3rd?

Yes. This clearly must be their goal since Cooper has been here for a decade and Baines is still here.

 No, not at all bigfan. Merely pointing out that scorehead is wrong yet again.

Frank, if 4 of your 6 coaches are Rookie managers, I think Scorehead is close enough. Especially if one of the 2 is Harold the statue.

4 of 6 is definitely not "an entire coaching staff comprised of rookie coaches" like scorehead suggests. It also cannot be 4 of 6 because Juan Nieves is still the bullpen coach. So at best, only half of the coaching staff will be first time coach. Keep trying though, its pretty funny!

Why would you be questioning this? Half or 2/3 of something is not the entire thing.

See? You're a funny guy!

When you said half is not the whole thing, I was still not sure, but the 2/3 of something helped me understand it was not the entire thing. OK, I got it now.

And Mark Parent has been named the bench coach? This is Robins right hand Man?
Insecure Kenny hiring yes Men.
This will be the cheapest & least experiences coaching staff in MLB.
This is what a low budget baseball operation looks like.
