"If you listened closely I said we are not rebuilding in the traditional sense of the word" (Best Morpheus Vice Inflections) WTF does that mean????? Rebuilding has a traditional meaning and I guess now a contemporary meaning? Someone call Wesbters! |

Terry's Peeps wrote: And doing it badly. Uh oh! I will give Terrry Peeps his credit, when they resigned Frasor it was "just a guy" and he was not all for it, it was not cheap either...of course Keysor reasoned it all out that signing Frasor was a good move. Now we will wait for him to explain why trading him was a good move. |

I'm convinced that there is no plan for rebuilding. We're a screw. |

They don't pick up the option they get nothing. They pick up the option and get 2 young arms. Did you really need me to explain that to you?? |

Keyser Soze wrote: They don't pick up the option they get nothing. They pick up the option and get 2 young arms. Did you really need me to explain that to you?? So they paid $3.75 M? for 2 young arms? and if they release Frasor, maybe a Type B free agent? for nothing and they got 2 guys in Class A, drafted in 17th and 20th round? One of them is 20 years old in Class A. Come on, just admit it makes no sense and the Frasor signing was a mistake, Kenny bascially just did? and most Sox fans have...why not jump on board? |

If they declined the option they would not have received compensation. I don't understand the rest of your post. |

You dont think they can find 2 Class A pitchers drafted int he 17th and 20th rounds on their own?? And please do not try to tell me that the plan was to sign Frasor to trade him. |

You said the Sox were stupid for picking up Frasor's $3.75M option. Now a team traded for that $3.75M option AND threw in 2 prospects to boot. Doesn't seem so stupid now does it?? It's funny how you try SO hard and continue to fall short. |

The fact a team traded for the guy does not make the move smart when it happened? But I know, Kenny is sooooo smart he knew he would be able to trade Frasor for Class A prospects? Kenny has a great plan that obviously only 2 people know about Kenny and You, what other great plans does Kenny have? You have defended every move Kenny has ever made, even Frank has criticized Kenny (Even though he took it back) Are the Sox fans Good Dolphin, Terrys Peeps, Agg Bob, etc etc all against kenny too, as they all think Kenny is fucking up? |

Why do you always look to others for support? Have conviction in your own thoughts. It's ok it's just a message board. I don't give a damn what they think. Kenny picked up the option and got value. It was a good baseball move plain and simple. |

Any move that Kenny makes is always good in Keyser's opinion. |

Or both as we all know that was the only reason that Kenny picked up the option. If Kenny does not pick up Jason Frasor's option, Jason Frasor is looking for a job today and NOT getting paid $3.75 m Chen got $4.5 M a year, Freddy Garcia and Eric Bedard, got $4M as starters, but Jason Frasor is a $3.75 M guy??? Yeah, I never have original thoughts on anything. |

I'm failing to understand how signing (and then trading) Frasor was a bad move. Are the White Sox paying any of his salary in Toronto? They probably won't get much help from the prospects they got from the trade, but what do they lose here? There are plenty of reasons to not like Williams. This is not one of them. |

So at the end of the day, you got nothing? Yet, for a cash strapped team you took the risk of having to pay $3.75 Mill. How about not picking up the option, then just finding 2 kids you just drafted to pitch in Class A? You are talking about Class 17th and 20th round picks. 20 years old. One of them was projected to be a 2nd rounder...is about the best you can say. Wanna search all of the minor leagues for everyone else's ex projected stars and go get them, fine, but please dont tell me that you had a plan to sign a guy for $3.75 M to trade for them...and say thats is a good baseball move! |

If you're suggesting that the White Sox need to better develop their own prospects, I don't think anyone would disagree with you. They have the worst farm system in the majors. That doesn't mean that they can't acquire prospects from other teams to help improve their own minor league teams (although I wouldn't point to the Frasor trade as prove that they improved it). What did you think the White Sox were going to get for Frasor? Why type of prospect? They got two guys who are unlikely to help much, but that's about what you're going to get for an aging middle inning pitcher on the last year of a contract that is probably overpaying him. Could the Sox have potentially been stuck with him? I guess, but that didn't happen, and I am suggesting, as I did when the Sox picked up the Frasor option (and as they did with giving Santos a new contract and then moving him) that trading him was always a possibility. Perhaps some team (like the Blue Jays) would rather have him for 1 year than have to give a middle reliever two or three years? It's arguable that this is significantly less risky for the Blue Jays. Was this a good baseball move? It was primarily a payroll dump. Picking up his contract did not hurt the White Sox, and this move can only help in the future, although it's doubtful it will. What it does do is clear a small amount of money off the payroll for next season. |

Fair point, perhaps Williams should be fired, however, I'm not sure how the Frasor trade made the situation worse. |

This is a good article from BA about the trade and scouting reports on the two pitchers the Sox got back. They're a couple of intriguing young arms. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/ma ... 12763.html |
