Yesterday was a nice down the stretch win. Lackey dominated us for all but one inning and we still win. That' what you need to do. Jose pitched well. I'd say in our last 12 games we've had good pitching in 9 of those games. So the pitching has come around and we've lost games recently because of our offense.

Tonight we face a guy with a 4.5 ERA.

Santana is pretty tough though, and I'm guessing with Buerhle pitching that we're going to need at least 5 runs to win tonight.

He's not that tough. A 4.5 is a 4.5. That's the only thing I look at with pitchers. Wins and losses are out of their control. Luckily we will miss there best pitcher Estaban in this series. But you are right. Buhrle is still a question.

I'm sorry. Escobar is the guy I meant. He's there best pitcher. He's 10-13 with a 3.5 ERA.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Take a look at his home versus away splits.

I'll take your word Dolphin. Always trust a gambler when it comes to numbers. LOL. I guess I stand corrected if your saying he's tough at home. Still some of that could be plain coincidence.

Let me remedy my thoughts. The thing you look at with a pitcher is there E.R.A in their last 5 starts. That's the truer indication of what your facing. Garland has an ERA of 4.2 but he's anything but that as we all know.

we arent gonna get any help. sox gotta win lots from here on out.

With 18 games to go, I think the Sox have to go at least 13-5 the rest of the way....the Tigers aren't playing well, but they have the softest schedule amongst the 3 teams, and the Twins just don't lose very often.

Hermanson and Jenks got two big double plays to keep this game alive. Bullpens been good so far today.

this offense needs to kick it in gear again. buehle threw very well tonite.

i wouldnt have had the infield back in the 7th

I agree with you on the infield in the 7th. Uribe makes that catch and it has to be hit perfect to make the play at the plate. I said the same thing to my self Frank.

i meant infield in...id have had them normal depth- at least gooch and uribe.

shoulda been a 1-1 count

why was gload holding that runner on?

academic now, but 1 inning of scoring isnt gonna get it done. gotta take the series tommorow. go A's

Why wasn't Crede trying to lay down a bunt with runners on 1st and 3rd w/ one out? Rodriguez is the most dominate closer in the game since June, with Owens on 3rd I like our chances better of getting a bunt down more than getting a hit.

If the Sox are within 3 on Monday, they have a chance. If not I see this season being over.

Relying on Sweaty Freddy is very troubling.

These motherphuckers are out of it. I don't care how many or how few games behind Minnesota or Detroit we are, I said in August that the Sox would finish 3rd. I'm officially done scoreboard watching because I don't think any of this shit matters any more.

If the Sox do wind up sliding into the playoffs, all of you are more than welcome to give me an "I told you so" ass-kicking. I just don't see it happening though.

Well the Twins lost and it looks like we got game 3 locked up today. We got that game back from the Twins rather quickly. We'll have taken 2 out of 3 from a good, hot, Angels team. That's pretty good.

Starting staff has been one of the best in baseball over the last 3 weeks. That's a fact guys.

Let's hope Texas beats Detroit and we'll roll on into Oakland feeling pretty good.

don't talk smack about the gooch, I was pissed off last night after the loss in the 11th and giving a game to the twins but if you had told me going into this series the sox would take 2 of 3 I would be happy and I like the performance I saw over this three game set. Now we have to do the same thing to the A's this next set.

gooch deserves to get crap talked about him after that pathetic display

I said it was nice to take 2 here. But Gooch deserves to get blasted. That was just dumb. Luckily it was meaningless and didn't cost us.
