Preview

The Sox will sweep the Tigers starting tonight with a blow out. The Twins will have the division clinched before the Sox play them at the end of the season. So they will rest their starters for the playoffs. We will win the wild card with that help. Thank you.[/b]

I never doubted that this team was better than last year. Kenny has stocked this team with the best pitching staff in baseball. With Thome's addition, this team has an unbelievable offense. The cream will rise to the top! The Sox will sweep the Tigers and begin a run that won't stop until they repeat as champs!!

...And they're going 162-0 next year!!!

You've been hiding in the weeds on this Sox section for weeks. I know you've had a rye smile on your face with my frustration. You love typing 110 every chance possible. But what I said will happen. All we have to do is tie the Tigers in record. We have the tie breaker in head to head record. I welcome you to join us in our "Sox playoff thread" Midget.

...And I will be happy to do so--in October of 2007.

AJ sounded like he was going to break down in tears on the morning show today.

Why? Did North ask him why he didn't ditch the mask to get a better look at the throw that Dye rifled past him?

Continuing the Sox/Tigers preview.

The wind is blowing out to left center. I have a source telling me that Jim Leyland cigarette smoke is howling straight out there as we speak.

Game 2

Ok. New plan. We're 4.5 behind the Twins. They play 3 with Boston starting tonight. Time to knock some games off before that 3 game series to end the year. Forgive me for my tie breaker scenerio. I was wrong. If they tie they play a one game playoff. Let's at least have it at 3 going into that Minnesota series.

Where have you been all year Freddy. That should eliminate the "he's tired" theory. He's pitched two gems at the end of the season when you should be naturally tired.

Twins win. We win. So it's still 4.5 behind them. Just get it to a least 3 before we play them. Make it interesting.

By the way, back to back 8 inning 1 hitters for Freddy. Pretty damn impressive.

Ofcourse Nas and I'm not eliminating that possibility. But if we get it to at least 3 then we control our own destiny for the last 3 games of the season.

If the rotation stays as is for both teams it will be Santana vs Garland on the last day. So we could win that game 2-1.

gotta win tommorow, take no less than 3 from seattle, and hope the twins drop 3 in that stretch.

if they dont have this thing down to say 2 games by the time they hit cleveland, its over.

The only goal at this point should be to make that last weekend series meaningful vs the Twins.

With a 4.5 game deficit, it's possible to cut it down to 3 by next weekend, but highly unlikely given how the Twins are and how inconsistent the White Sox are.

You should not be planning on catching the Twins. It is the Tigers you should be concentrating on. That is the team that is more likely to blow this lead.

Cut it to 4 tonight and hope KC continues its strong second half play.

you know what really bugs me, is how this team seems to complacent in the past week to 10 days with being a 3rd place team. last year, even when they struggled down the stretch, they still (from what i remember anyway) looked like they had a lot more fight in them...like they couldnt wait to get back on the field tommorow totry and right the ship. this year, it looks like just about every guy has a tee time for october 3rd and they cant wait to get there more than anything.

the 2006 chicago white sox; we've died and we barely tried.
