18 months of White Sox glory from April 2005 to September 2006...it was fun while it lasted. I guess we should treasure those memories from 2005 more, because who knows when, or if, we'll see a Chicago baseball team playing that deep into Ocotber. |

A shitty year, a definate disappointment, a lot of inconsistency, but they are what 20 games over .500? It's too damn bad we're not in the NL |

Yeah, I can't really say that I'm not disappointed... but they are still going to finish 20 games over .500 and made a helluva run in the toughest division in baseball. I really can't ask much more from them, other than "let's keep this going for five more years". A team is much more fun to watch when they have a legitamate chance at winning the division year in and year out. |

You guys are missing the point. Now we can devote our full time and energy to our Superbowl bound Chicago BEARS. Now lets wipe that smirk off of Brad Johnson's face. |

I want Kenny Williams to not rest on his laurels this off season and be agressive. Sure, he got Thome and Vasquez, but I just didn't see them same Trader Kenny that we've seen in the past. I also think I want to see Josh Fields playing everyday and a new leadoff/left fielder next season. |

Coach Crapowski wrote: Like Frank said, let's keep the 2005 in our memory. It may very well be that we'll be telling stories about it to the next couple of generations. Garland K-ing Tejada, Podsednik's base stealing and Frank's HR binge before he went down again, the slide in August, division clincher in Detroit, Duque getting out of that bad jam in the ALDS, kickass pitching in the ALCS, AJ in the ALCS, Dye awarded 1st by the HP ump who thought he got hit by a pitch, extra inning game in the WS, Podsednik's HR, Paulie's grand slam, Lidge's recurring meltdown, Clemens lasting only a couple of innings, Blum's HR, Buehrle closing, Willie scoring, Uribe catch going into stands, Crede's hitting and D, Rowand's baserunning fuckups. And of course me consuming excessive amounts of alcohol during that run nightly.
Man, what an improbable and exhilerating year 2005 was. With apologies to the 85 Bears and the Bulls dynasty years, it was the single most dramatic year a sports team has ever had in this city. |

the 85 bears was great, but there were many more dramtic moments in the sox playoff run. i mean the bears didnt give up a Ffuckin point in the playoffs until a field goal in the super bowl...thats not drama, thats domination. 11-1 in domination as well, but the sox had the drama, and edge of your seat moments that the bears didnt have |

2 in july 85 doug my dad taped almost that entire season, so i have been lucky enough to see those games, and hear summerall and madden in thier prime calling those games. true i wasnt old enough to appreciate it, and i was probably sleeping when they won, but ive still see the games and the domination. plus every 5 years the bears celebrate them all season long ![]() |
