caller said dunn was going to hit .160 again
ranger said no.

"find someone to wager with - how bout $500?"

Caller said he was looking forward to the Three Stooges movie.

Ranger said no person with a functioning brain would see that movie and you couldn't pay him to see it.

Caller offered $500.

Ranger is still mulling the offer.

:P

Ranger told the caller there was no way he knows for certain dunn will be bad, which I guess is true. Ranger said he wouldn't because he looked better even though he was continuing to strike out. Odd reasoning and he big balled the guy with the $500 bet that Ranger wouldn't take.

The Ranger will fight to the death for his White Sox!

He does. I understand it and I kind of respect it. His position that this 4 KO game looked better than last year's 4 KO game is not one I would want to defend.

4 KO game looked better than last years 4 KO game????

Almost as good as hearing "southside bob" call in and state that the ump missed 3 pitches in the 10th and thats why Coop got run and that why the 2 HR were given up.

White Sox excuses machine is in mid season mode!

No. He mentioned it, but he wasn't repeatedly whining and blaming the loss on it. In fact, he said that the Sox had received "gift runs". It was absolutely a strike though, not like some borderline pitch that could have gone either way. The ump blew it.

Because outside of that pitch, Barksdale actually had a really really good game behind the plate.

BTW, Ranger is the poster boy for Curious Hair's brilliant post about the smart sports fan at the Score

Paraphrasing....
I wish they'd stop trying to take the smart fan's tact. Because they arent thinking half as well as they think they are

Honestly, the Poor Ranger and his crazy Sox fans calls things is so dumb. Ranger has as many dumb thoughts as anyone who calls that show.

Still waiting for him to admit that Chris Young might be better than Alex Rios.

According to Ranger, Chris Young is bad at baseball, and Rios is an all star

Rios was a Bonafide ALL Star per Stone. This guy was going to be really good, what he did at Tor before they traded for him was a fluke.

Frank getting mad! Baseball. Sox Baseball. Angry, Tough, Grindy, knowledgable, stay at home, use state money, Robins quite leadership....

I never understood how people viewed Rios.

In Toronto he had 1 great year and like 4 average to bad ones. For some reason people thought the 1 year was the real Rios. Doesnt really make sense.

he had amazing tools and was a two-time all star at age 26. What's not to like? That's why Toronto gave him a big contract.

I probably listen to more pre and post than the actual games.

I don't know if I am typical of Sox fans but I that radio announcing team is a deterrent to me listening. Yesterday night I had a little bit of a drive home from a meeting. I was in the mood to listen to the Sox. I turned on the game for a couple of minutes and the two douchebags got bogged down in an unfunny exchange about covering first base. I actually switched to Kaplan for a couple of minutes. It just sucks listening to them.

I find them tolerable. I'm in the camp, and it may be a lonely one, that sees DJ has someone who could become good and grow into a decent radio guy....if it wasn't for the wooden, emotionless robot that sits next to him.

Farmer and Rooney had the chemistry, for the most part, some of the best radio calling in the biz. It really goes to show you how switching roles and chemistry can affect those in the booth.

Poor DJ.

Add maybe another year and you have....Kerry Wood. And yes, I agree with your point.

I dunno.

You mean hearing Farmer reminisce about the Phillies of waybackwhen mixing up the dugout phones on Danny Ozark WAS'NT exactly riveting radio?!? You mean you don't care about Farmer's first appearance at Yankee Stadium? You really aren't waiting for Farmer's first actually interesting story/insight in the last 5-6 years?

Me neither. (But +1 on seeing DJ with possibilities....if freed from the Great 'Farmio' )

He's done and I really don't think he gives a shit either.

Kenny got caught, plain and simple.

I don't like KW, but you can understand why someone might like Rios. He had a big year two years ago, so it's not like the talent wasn't there. He's just a head case.

Yeah, the contract was bad, but Im not faulting Kenny

Im faulting Ranger for completely dismissing the notion that Young might be better.

He was obviously wrong. But he mocked my stance. And if I had called into his show, people would "feel bad for Rongey"
