I am now beginning to agree with Frank that we will miss him when he is gone. I can't take more than about 1/2 hour of the guy, but using yesterday as an example, you just KNOW he's going to say crazy stuff.... So, he told us that MLB Pitchers are just like thoroughbred race horses...He told us Eddie Arcaro once told him CITATION was the best Arcaro ever rode and had a big heart... Topped that after the game when he said Danks DOESN'T LIKE TO HAVE HIS BEST STUFF because HE'S A BATTLER and LOVES TO BATTLE!!!! |

well, you nailed it. 1/2 and hour is the key. he ought to do the middle three innings or something. I can't imagine who they'd get next. gotta be part of the "family." |

He was arguing Fukodome as the player of the game as Rios goes 3 for 3 with a 1B, 2B, 3B and 3 RBI |

I don't have an issue with Hawk, but, then again, I'm not parsing his words or questioning everything he says. The guy is stuck in the 60's/70's with his baseball referencesm, he doesn't talk when the team is losing, etc, he's clearly not perfect or a typical announcer, but I'm able to watch guys without needing him to explain what I'm seeing and Stone is still there to provide some good insight. |

Hawk sorta sucks. I get his "schtick"....but don't really care for it. My defining moment for him was during that Cubs - Sox game where there was an interference call. Hawks was beside himself blaming the umps for making up calls,...meanwhile down the dial Bob & Len were calmly & professionally explaining what happened. Hawk looked like the boob he is in all his glory that day. |

Entertainment value of Hawk is gone. He speaks so little during a broadcast (another great quality for a play by play guys). Amazing how many times you scan through the channels, stop on a Sox game and hear nothing, check if your Mute button is pushed and then move on. Maybe hearing a '2 and 2' as you go to Animal Planet |

I'm sure if he did say something, it'd probably be sexist/racist/homophobic. All of which would offend his partner. |
