Sitting in Section 139ish one night and this guy, claims to be an off duty cop gives us a hard time as we walked down to our seats in row 1, the guy walks up 3 rows to meat us with a 'Let me see your tickets" as if scum like us could never acquire seats in the front row to a Sox game.

The fatass says "Ok, you are over there" Now I dont expect a convoy to lead me too and present my seats to me like Vanna White, but there is a way to actually be nice about it, with a "Oh your seats are right here"...afterall the job is to help people locate their seats.. the other part of the job is to kick out those who do not have seats during the game. And with all 7,000 in the park that night it was a daunting task!

We sit down and this guy kicks out every little kid that wants to get an autograph, take a pic etc. No the game has not started, no players are doing anything important, just being an asshole.

The game starts and he starts kicking out people without tickets, sending them to sections to basically sit alone, then the skanky chicks come down and ask if they can sit there for an inning and talk to the players. He says "Sure honey"

We ask why the kids or anyone else is questioned about where they sit, but not the fine young women. He gives us a snear and walks away.

"Appreciate the Game"

I am mocking Franks constant use of the word and someguys lack of ability to create his own insult me, but he did call me 'frightening'

Yet, once again, not my story and was just meant to see how quick the guardians of Sox nation came out to defend the game.

You Mr Peeps destroyed the Trifecta!!!!!!!!!

No topic about ballpark security is complete without mentioning the decrepit babushkas older than time itself who control the seating arrangements at Wrigley. After games they turn into bats and fly off into the night.

There's no doubt. Some of those old fuckers will ask to see your ticket even though they've already seen it twice and you've been sitting in your seat for seven innings. Maybe they just don't remember. But when you're charging grand whore prices and then your employees are hassling the customers, well, it shouldn't be a shocker that some people might not consider that "fan friendly".

It just seems to me that every event is met with an overreaction. And I'm not just talking about in ballparks. It's a condition of our society.

Please, mr big fan, show me where I defended the Sox in this thread.

All I did was use your own typo to insinuate that you are gay (Not that there's anything wrong with that). A normal person might take more offense to that than a blind defense of the White Sox. Then again, you aren't a normal person.

I've had those old douches follow me to my seat. What's worse is when you're carrying two beers and a couple hot dogs and the goof on the ramp is standing there with the elastic cord tied to his belt blocking the entrance and demanding a ticket.

To me, the agitation of the fan outweighs the capital crime of someone sitting in the wrong seat. If someone is in the wrong seat and the actual ticketholder comes, they'll move.

I go to a lot of games. I don't think ballclubs are marketing to "new" fans, as in people who never go to games at all. They're marketing to try to get the guy who goes to two games a season to go to five or six. But it seems like all of the procedures and protocols are based upon the guy who goes to a couple games rather than the guy who goes to many.

I thought the White Sox security people being dicks was part of the local-color charm of the Cell. Recall a game in 2009 I attended where a Cell security guy gave me grief about a quarter-sized, black-and-white Obama pin on my jacket.

Same here. I got busted taking a pull off a flask of Jameson while sitting in the wrong seats and all they did was dump out the whiskey and make us move to our ticketed seats. They were friendly and almost apologetic about having to dump the Jameson. Gave me back the empty flask tho.

I was walking in the tunnel, he was walking toward me with another sec guy and he saw the pin, said "Obama!" and then did a fake-out high-five, which I was drunk enough to go for and then he walked away cracking up about it. Image

This is exactly what Adam Corolla talks about.

Guys with the shittiest jobs need to act like assholes to make themselves look important.

I've seen the same type of a-holes at Wrigley too so it's not just a Cell thing.
