Interesting article form chireader.com http://www.chicagoreader.com/Bleader/ar ... unn-haters raises a question, do we get to a point where we can buy a Dunn jersey for our girlfriends or wear one to the game following the nuclear vitriol spewed in his direction last year. I drafted him in fantasy baseball this year (got him late and am happy about it), I just feel guilty about it, it must be weird for him, but he has enough cash where it really doesnt matter. please share later sabu |

But its nice to know we've moved from just wanting to dump him and eat a lot of salary in a trade to actually possibly getting an actual useful good player or two in return. |

Main thing is that the Dunn-Konerko 4-5 punch is one of the better ones in the entire league. Either of these guys can carry the team, and if the rest of them are hitting then we have seen what they can do. |

This is what he was signed to do. Early in the season when it was already obvious that he wasn't going to have another 2011, he was still getting shit talk and vitriol from people when he K'd. I guess people forgot that historically, his AB's have 3 possible outcomes- K, BB, or HR. That was a well established fact the day he was signed. It was maddening to watch KW give Swisher to the Yankees for free after it cost him Gio Gonzalez, Ryan Sweeney, and Fautino De Los Santos to bring him here in the first place. Swisher batted 30 points higher, had 29 HR in his first year as a Yankee (also helped them win a World Series). That isn't even remarkably better than his 2008 with the White Sox and it was painful to watch. Washing your hands of Adam Dunn after the blatant outlier that 2011 was only to watch him hit 17 HR and bring his BA back to normal after just 50 games means that you can't be trusted to trade or manage a baseball card collection, or a fantasy team- let alone actual baseball players. If I'm Reinsdorf and Dunn was crafting his current numbers on another team at the moment, even if the Sox were still in 1st- I'm firing Kenny 50 games into the season and chasing him to Oakland on foot so he could GM the Raiders instead. It would be reasonable to conclude that KW was trying to sabotage the team. |
