The suck is that they are only .500 at home after being bad at the Cell last year as well

Given the new playoff format, there is a very good chance the White Sox make it in. Their pitching has been very good. All depends on how Sale and Peavy hold up through a whole season. They have to be one of the most exciting 1-2 in the league right now. As always, Im willing to watch both teams but would prefer both to be good.

Peavy WILL break down before the end of July. he has been on the DL over a month in each of the past 5 years. That is a trend that with an incrase in age, is unlikely to be broken. How well they fill in for him and how it effects the ballclub will be crucial. They are certainly on a nice roll here, but things can turn on a dime. So as Lou liked to say "Lets not get all giggly about this now".

Go huff some more paint. 14-2 in their last 16 games, closing in on the best record in the AL. Peavy and Sale will be All Stars, as will Konerko and possibly Dunn. They could really put some distance between themselves and the Tribe and Tigers before the AS Break.

You never know what you are talking about. Your intelligence is one thing that won't turn on a dime. Setting the over/under on amount of radio shows you call today at 1.5.....bet heavy on the over!

It's possible they will put more distance between themselves and the Indians and Tigers. Then again, it's very possible they will revert to the 17-21 club they were prior to this current run. I see them as a better than average team, but not a special team at all. I am pretty sure that Peavy will visit the D.L. again this season and with Sale it's a matter of how he holds up. He has not had a season yet with a lot of innings. They have talked before about limiting his innings for that reason. Konerko and Sale should be All-Stars. Peavy may too, if he's not injured by then. Dunn is a big question mark because of the rule every team must have a representative and his BA and strikeout numbers may leave him out. If that happens though, I would expect him to be invited to the homerun derby at least. I'm not trying to piss all over the team, I think it's playing very well now. They may even win what is a weak division. But if you have delusions of contending for a championship with this team, you are the one huffing paint/glue/whatever. It's a pretty good club, but one that is likely to be facing some challenges in the next couple months. When Peavy breaks down (again) and Sale wears down and is getting hit I'll say I told you so.

How many times is Elmhurst Steve going to say that Peavy may get injured? I think we get it by now.

I figured all four would be All Stars. There's a chance Dunn won't be?

Dunno. You know Washington is gonna take a couple of Rangers players, none of the Sox are gonna be voted on by the fans, and every team needs an All Star. Given all that, there is a chance one of those guys could be the odd man out.

Every team needs at least one representative is a close second to the winning side determines home field advantage as the dumbest rule in all of sports. Congrats Bud!

Eh. I don't mind that every team gets one guy. The home field rules is obviously stupid. Also the fact that Tony LaRussa is gonna manage the NL All Stars is stupid. If home field wasn't determined, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I actually think the one player per team rule would be stupider if it actually effected the WS champ like home field could. The one player rule is the equivalent of the 10th place participation trophy in 3rd grade. Except these are grown men. The AS game should clearly feature the best players in the game that season. It should be very simple.

Maybe I'm having such a problem with it because I'm projecting it to other sports. If the NBA had that rule Gerald Wallace would be like a 8 time All Star.

Biggest difference is that baseball (and NFL) roster is much larger than the NBA roster.
