Yankees start the series off right. Pettite fractures his ankle while applying mascara and Sabathia strains a hammy going for 15ths at the buffet.

How long until Clemens coming out of retirement rumors start up?

George's Box must be awfully dusty by now.

There are only two kinds of men who apply mascara: 1. Certain rock stars; and/or 2. Homosexuals. I do not believe that you are comparing Future Hall of Famer and five (5) time World Series Champion Andy Pettitte to Robert Smith of The Cure. Therefore, I will presume that you are defaming Andy Pettitte.

This running "joke" about Andy Pettitte has me slightly annoyed. Let the record reflect that Andy Pettitte is married and has four (4) children. Plus, he has two hundred forty-three (243) Major League wins, and has set a world record for playoff wins. I like some old songs by Elton John, but I definitely do not believe that he has two hundred forty-three (243) Major League wins, or a wife.

So he's a lot like John Travolta?

Yikes.

Not quite as cool as John Travolta. At least he can dance and fly a plane.

The White Sox will send Dylan Axelrod tonight vs. Ivan Nova for the Yankees. The Yanks have called up right-hander Adam Murray from Triple "A" Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to start the game tomorrow vs. Jose Quintana. Murray replaces C.C. Sabathia, now on the DL with a strained groin and Freddy Garcia was pressed into service yesterday with Andy Pettitte breaking his leg in the Yankees' 5-3 win over the Indians in the Bronx. You know what that means for Sox hitters...

Jake Peavy/Hideki Kuroda is the mound matchup Saturday with Gavin Floyd & Phil Hughes wrapping up the series on Yankees' Old-Timers Day Sunday. That explains the later start time of 1:05p Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

Post subject:  Re: 6/28-7/1 Glorious

Dylan Axelrod looked young and a bit overwhelmed in his last start. I'd imagine that pitching in THE HOUSE THAT DEREK SANDERSON JETER BUILT is not going to help things.

Incidentally, if you've never been to yankee stadium, go there! there's a neighborhood around it like wrigley and you can get some cheap fried chicken a couple'a blocks over and bring it into the ballpark. then if you paid $6000 to sit in the lower dish, you can stare at all the glorious model/actresses with fried chicken juice dripping onto your awesome jersey.

incidentally, in my multiple sojourns to NYC i've found yankees fans to be generally awesome. when i was an obstinate punk in my vlad guerrero expos jersey and angels cap, i found myself getting respect from yankees fans who were like "dude, vlad's badass. the angels own us in the playoffs... nice jersey/hat combo!" --- it's like 27 championships have calmed their nerves enough to the point where they can respect other people because they respect themselves.

I always thought Pettitte had a little Gwen Stefani in him.

He'd probably like a little Gavin Rossdale in him.

Again, Andy Pettitte is definitely not homosexual, despite your best efforts to keep "joking" about it.

Yes, it is much cooler to prance and dance around like a fool than it is to pitch a World Series game at Yankee Stadium! I am laughing so loudly out loud that I am certain that it is disturbing the rest of my office!

Maybe it is time for Frank Costanza to call Walgreens and refill his anti-psychotic medication.

I just want to be clear on this, because maybe I am a little old fashioned.

If I take offense to a player that I admire being joked about as a homosexual, that makes me possibly homosexual?

Serenity now.

It's...a...joke. Try having a sense of humor, pal. And you're an adult. Stop admiring baseball players.

27 is the number of World Series the Yankees have won. Its also the number of men that Andy Pettite has slept with. Many of them more than once.

I have a tremendous sense of humor. However, I do not particularly care for implications that I am homosexual. That I do not find amusing. No, sir.

What are you talking about? Why would anyone follow sports if they did not admire the players?

I love sports. There is not one athlete that I admire.

If the White Sox are smart, and I tweeted this earlier today, they walk Yankees' 2B Robinson Cano all weekend. Cano smacked homer #18 yesterday in the Yankees' 5-3 win over the Indians and might very well be MLB's most dangerous hitter right now. As much as I enjoy watching Gordon Beckham defensively, Cano is in a class all by himself. Cano might be the best 2B in the game today.

Might be? What second baseman is better?

SHARK, do you think Andy Pettite wears make up and sleeps with men?

I'm not going to touch that one with a ten-foot pole. The one about Andy Pettitte, who might be finished as a result of his injury yesterday vs. Cleveland.
