Toronto is in town, pitching 3 lefties at the Sox. For whatever reason, Sox have really scuffled against the Jays over the last few years. They need to stay hot and take 2 of 3 into the AS Break. Though, who knows. in 2005 the A's swept them at The Cell going into the break. Need Floyd to have his good stuff, and Dunn and Konerko are due for a big series.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Chicago White Sox

Friday, July 6, 7:10 PM CT, U.S. Cellular Field
Aaron Laffey, LHP 0-0, 2.14 ERA
Jake Peavy, RHP 6-5, 2.96 ERA

Saturday, July 7, 3:10 PM CT, U.S. Cellular Field
Ricky Romero, LHP 8-3, 5.35 ERA
Gavin Floyd, RHP 6-8, 4.91 ERA

Sunday, July 8, 1:10 PM CT, U.S. Cellular Field
Brett Cecil, LHP 2-1, 5.64 ERA
Sox pitcher is TBA for Sunday

I think they will throw Dylan Axelrod out there on Sunday so they can conserve Chris Sale for the All Star Game appearance on Tuesday night. Need his effort to get home field at the Cell for the World Series, you know.

There was talk that they won't even let him pitch in the AS game. That's BS. The kid has earned every right to pitch in or start that game. Tell Cokehead Washington that its 1 inning/ 25 pitch max and let him throw. He doesn't even have to leave KC since the Sox play there right after the break.

I heard earlier in the year they were going to give Sale a long layoff over the AS Break, and I don't have a problem with that. I'd rather Sale pitch against the Red Sox than the Royals anyway. Crain went on the Dl (again  ), and they brought up a guy from Charlotte who might start on Sunday.

If I was Ron Washington, I would do a couple of lines in the clubhouse prior to the game and then I would start Sale and leave him in for the whole game.

That free gallon of milk deal at Aldi when the Sox get a save is pretty nice...kids are finally going to be able to have something other than the powdered stuff Nestle discontinued.

We buy organic as well but free trumps all. I don't drink milk anyway.

The Boyd Weather Center wrote:
I think we are in a heat wave, which is a prolonged period of excessively hot weather, which may be accompanied by high humidity. There is no universal definition of a heat wave; the term is relative to the usual weather in the area and relative to normal temperatures for the season. Temperatures that people from a hotter climate consider normal can be termed a heat wave in a cooler area if they are outside the normal climate pattern for that area. The term is applied both to routine weather variations and to extraordinary spells of heat which may occur only once a century. Severe heat waves have caused catastrophic crop failures, thousands of deaths from hyperthermia, and widespread power outages due to increased use of air conditioning.

That was a nice strike-em-out-throw-em-out double play to end the top half of the first.

Jake Peavy does not look like Wanda Sykes.

Now if you'd said Pam Grier...
