After a 4-2 road trip in which they took 2 out of 3 over both Texas & Minnesota, the White Sox are home for the first of 3 this weekend vs. the ANAHEIM Angels at U.S. Cellular Field to start a 9-game homestand. For White Sox fans, it's their first chance to see 20 year-old Angels' outfield sensation Mike Trout. It's also the Sox first chance to see Zach Greinke since Anaheim acquired him before the MLB Trade Deadline from Milwaukee. Greinke, wearing #23 for the Angels, starts the series tonight for the Garth Brooks-looking Mike Scioscia. Here's who else will toe the rubber:

TONIGHT: 7:10P, Comcast SportsNet Chicago & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
ANA: 23 Zach Greinke RHP (0-1, 2.57 ERA w/Angels) vs. CHW: 41 Philip Humber RHP (5-5, 5.90 ERA)

SATURDAY: 6:10P, WGN CW9/WGN America & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
ANA: 34 Ervin Santana RHP (5-10, 5.97 ERA) vs. CHW: 34 Gavin Floyd RHP (8-9, 4.28 ERA)

SUNDAY: 1:10P, CSNC & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
ANA: 24 Dan Haren RHP (8-8, 4.59 ERA) vs. CHW: 58 Francisco Liriano LHP (3-10, 5.18 ERA w/MIN & CHW)

I'm going tonite, which means it will probably be about an 8-3 Angels win.

Are you aware Zach Greinke's not too good lifetime at U.S. Cellular Field? 2-5 lifetime. Granted, he was a Kansas City Royal for a lot of those games, but still...

2-7 lifetime.

I stand corrected. Thanks, IM17.

Sunday's Angels/White Sox game will be nationally televised...outside Chicago. It's the "Sunday Game of the Week" on TBS, with Dick Stockton & Dennis Eckersley providing the call. Luckily, you won't hear Dick's call in Chicago due to a MLB/Turner Sports' blackout in the home team market.

I kind of like the matchups on Saturday and Sunday. I don't fear Grinenke. He is one of those Joe Orr pitchers who never seems to win .

Hmm ok. But a 3 game series vs that lineup that does not include Peavy or Sale is asking alot.

Angel should trade for Mike Carp, then resuscitate Catfish Hunter, Kevin Bass, & Tim Salmon. Trout will be the Team Captain of the All-Fish team... :drunken:

Steve Trout and Steve Lake have to be on that team. And of course our very own SHARKY would be the manager.

I just spent 15 minutes with Farmer. In that time I heard- "The A on their hat use to stand for Anahiem, now it stands for Angels" and after Trouts dinger " he had a short swing and hit it out. Someones asking but no one will answer". What the fuck does that mean? Does he remember the Califuckingfornia Angels??

Between Humber and Farmer I'm gonna get fucked up. I just keep downing these beers one after another because I'm so fucking frustrated. I actually turned the game off the radio and took my laptop outside and I'm now watching the gamecast.

5-4 top of the 5th.

Wait, Kustock is leaving? Where is SHARK?

Post subject:  Re: 8/3-5: Angels at the Cell

Her name is Kustok and she is leaving for the YES Network, more money, and I imagine the family situation comes into play here where she might just want to get out of the area.

I think I'm willing to put this Angels team as my favorite for the World Series at this point, this game aside. They have great top three pitching, and have some pretty awesome bats as well. I could see a LA/LA(Anaheim) series in the future.

Ervin is the Bad Santana.

Santanas have historically been Hurty or Bad, Ervin is bad.
