I remember defending Konerko on steroid/HGH accusations on this board. I won't with AJ. Why? Cuz I think AJ is a scumbag, dumb ass that really doesn't care about future ramifications. I think he's selfish and was thinking about a big pay day coming into his free agent year. One last big contract to set up his cracker ass real nice. I don't think that of Konerko. I think Konerko thinks about his health, future and family. I think he's an intelligent guy. I think he would be scared about using roids or HGH. I don't think A.J is like that.

Beardown, I think you are a great person. You contribute in many beneficial ways to society. I would like to tell you a secret (please do not tell anyone else here.) AJ is 35 years old. Teams will not pay someone 36 million for their production from 36-39 years old - at least for catchers with medium pop and weak arms.

It is his contract year. I would expect a two year deal for 15 million from the Sox which he will take. Flowers takes over as main catcher in 2014 as we all beg the Sox to get a legit guy in there.

He's just more aggressive. He's trying to yank shit out when he use to try to hit everything up the middle or the other way. I think Robin told him to be a HITTER. HIs powers numbers arent crazy different from past years. I know they are higher but its not like Luis Gonzalez or Brady Anderson.

It is very possible he is on HGH. I think lots of players are, especially considering that the MLB does not test for HGH. Speaking of HGH, I do not think it is a coincidence that you get these guys who go to Toronto and all of a sudden start cracking them out of the park. HGH is easier to acquire in Canada.

AJ wants to stay in Chicago and finish his career here and knows he needs to have a big year. I would have no problem signing him to another two year deal. That will give the Sox some time to find an alternative if need be. I am not sold on Flowers being more then a good backup.

To be honest, HGH does not bother me as much as steroids. The whole PED issue is a tough one, I can totally understand trying to use them with the money that is at stake. HGH doesn't give you the immediate strength gains that juice does. It helps with muscle recovery, which I can see being very tempting for baseball players.
