Rick Hahn is expected to be named GM of the Sox next year, with Kenny Williams being elevated to team President according to Bob Nightengale.

Ricky Williams?

Does this mean Hahn will blame a poor start in 2013 on the fans?

John Paxson approves.

Indubitably.

I'm not sure how accurate this report from USA Today's Bob Nightengale is, but it would be similar to Jerry Reinsdorf's other team, the Bulls. Connect the dots... Does anyone remember John Paxson supposedly getting aggravated at having to do deal with the media to a point where Paxson is now Executive V.P. & Gar Forman is now General Manager?

I wonder if Ken Williams is really as happy at his current position and wants to give Rick Hahn the day to day duties as GM of the White Sox...

CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman has confirmed Bob Nightengale's Tweet last hour that the White Sox will indeed promote Ken Williams to President & his longtime Assistant General Manager Rick Hahn will also replace Williams in the General Manager's chair this offseason.

Isn't Bob Nightengale like 100 years old? I think he wrote for the old Daily News and Sun-Times back in the 70's. Or is that Dave Nightengale?

Bob Nightengale is the longtime National Baseball reporter for USA Today. Not sure how old he is, but he was first to Tweet the White Sox new look front office last hour.

As big a critic of Williams as I have been, I do understand he has to work under the constraints of control freak Reinsdorf.

The pressure of the GM job would and does get to everybody who holds it unless you are brain dead like the Bears recent GMs.

What extra power does Hahn gain by being named GM other than a pay bump?

Kenny is a pud! and the partners cant stand the guy. The fact he is the GM and cant say hello, smile and basically be friendly to some people is why he is being bumped upstairs. Remember the partners write the checks at the end of the year if the attendance is 26th in the league and the payroll is 5th! Not Jerry!

The rumor was out there to start the season that this would be his last year. A few Sox fans here even asked if I had heard it...

Leaving aside the chascappopian use of the English language, this would seem to make no sense.

As President he will have more interaction with the partners and non-baseball people who you indicate he can't get along with and don't like him.

I am a little surprised Hahn accepted the position. Kenny does not seem like the kind to sit back and let Hahn do his job.
