Funny, it's been bad for about 25 of the past 30 years. Yet it seems to have little bearing on overall team performance. Screw farm systems. Who needs them?

I'd rather have a warm hat on than a good farm system.

That is kinda funny. I keep hearing every couple of years since 1990 about the Cubs farm system and this can't miss prospect or that. ALso, how the Sox system is bare. I think the Sox record has been pretty fair.

For a historically barren farm system, they do bring a fair amount of major league talent through it.

The Sox bring up their top draft picks early like Sale and Beckham or trade them for key pieces. They've been a solid team by and large for a long time.

It's a 'Specific Intangible Improvement" going from "31" to 28....not many have!

The Montreal Expos had such a great farm system that it still ranks 30th from beyond the grave.

The only problem is that Gordon Beckham is awful at baseball.

Kid had a great second half when they brought him up...then the coaches got a hold of him/.
