I hate 5 years for a pitcher.

Hopefully he can stay healthy.

Sox breaking their normal approach to a pitcher.

Get ready for some expensive towel drills. I've seen this story before. :(

It's $35M over 3 years with team options in years 4 and 5.

That's pretty good.

Levine sucks. Did he even report the 2 year team options or just say it was a 5 year deal?

Nevermind. He did report the option years.

He's obviously going to break down even though he threw 192 innings last year

Just the haters doing their thing, dolphin. Cub fans pray that he turns into Mark Prior. Like that will make them feel better or something...

Nah, its all good. I was responding to the 5 year thing. 3 years is fine.

I suppose its OK if you treat him with kid gloves and take him out after 100 pitches. Otherwise his arm will give out. Sure as shit.

Don't you have a white trash meeting to get to this afternoon?

Selecting who runs on to the field and beats up a base coach isn't going to take care of it self...

I certainly dont. I love dominant starters regardless of team.

Do you think that bodes well for him or not?

Heavy workload and doubling your previous high in innings is not usually cited as evidence for future health

I think he'll stay healthy, but its DESPITE his throwing those innings last year

Same. Dominant pitching is my favorite part of baseball. Great contract for the Sox. Feel like Sale left money on the table.

BS, no Cub fan can think objectively like that.

Your posts will just be ignored to stay with the lame ole tired stereotypical thoughts.

This won't help the White Sox intentionally lose 100 games this year. Way to go Rick.

Awesome deal. Sale is a guy that could turn into one of the top 5 pitchers in all of MLB.

5 years for Chris Sale? I know he was outstanding this past season for the White Sox, but I'm not so sure this is a smart idea financially. Since Jerry Reinsdorf bought the White Sox in 1981, it's not like the Sox to pay a pitcher this kind of money for 5 years unless they think Sale can avoid injury like Mark Buehrle before he bolted a year ago as a free agent.

Actually quite the opposite. I am having a lovely day. Been quiet at work most of the day and been able to get caught up on some things.

Temp got up to 50 here this afternoon on a beautiful sunny day, supposed to be 65 by the weekend!

:D

I stand corrected.
