I really cannot figure out why we are in year 2 of Ventura and Konerko conitnues to not be the #3 hitter. |

Hawk complains about the umpires, and the Cub fans root for the Royals. Sox are 2-1 on Thursday. |

If I were filling out that lineup card, I'd have Beckham 7th, Ramirez 8th & Flowers 9th. There seems to be a great deal of national love, sort of speak, for the Kansas City Royals. MLB Network's Harold Reynolds is among those who thinks the Royals could be a surprise in the AL, and said so on "The Dan Patrick Show" this morning. |

I remember the days of GIDPaul. He's not that bad anymore. Anyway, he has been killing the ball for the better part of 3 years now and gets on base at a better clip than Rios even in Rios' best years. |

Whatever order they are in, 3-4-5 hitters are not going to be the problem this year. I don't even think 6 is going to be much of a problem because I think Tank is really going to have a great year. 7-8-9 might be. |

Paulie is always solid, but his age is going to catch up to him eventually. Which Dunn is going to be there this year? Last years version or the year before? And Rios has shown that he can be extremely inconsistent. |

Dunn's 2011 was an anomaly. The power numbers on the back of his baseball card on average looks much more like last year than anything else. Paulie's power last year dwindled to almost nothing after that wrist issue. If that comes up again this year, he's screwed and potentially so are the Sox. The wild card in all of this is Rios, but as I said earlier I think Tank is really poised to have a big power year. 30 Hrs and 90+RBIs from him would not surprise me at all. |

SS Alexei Ramirez has been all over the lineup during his tenure on the South Side. Also, the times you don't see CF Alejandro De Aza leading off, who leads off for this team from time to time? |

I just did some quick math using lifetime OBP stats for Rios and Paulie...in 162 games, Konerko will get on base 5.67 more times than Rios. |

That's really only part of the equation. I think we can agree that Konerko is the better hitter than Rios even at this advanced age. Why would you not want your best hitter coming to bat right after your two highest OBP hitters? |

If Paulie could get to first base in less than 4.3 seconds, I would agree with you. |
