Brooks not only made it to the majors, but had a couple productive years with the Brewers, as well as years (2) with the Cubs, Rockies and Reds. He didn't turn out to be the star the Cubs had hoped he might be, but he had 6 seasons in the major leagues. It remains to be seen if jared Mitchell will do as much.

Mitchell hit .132 in 12 games at Charlotte with 27 strikeouts!!!!!!


I am truly surprised he wasn't PROMOTED to the White Sox!!!!!!

Can't say I have ever heard of this guy but I don't think Sox fans have much room to speak about B Jax with this guy still in the system.

He is blocked by Dunn. Only one 250+ K guy per big league team please. To be serious-this is a big issue. If you are a top prospect/draft choice you must have been mashing at high school or college. To lose touch with tbe strike zone shows you are overmatched or overanxious to earn even more dough by swinging as hard as you can and hoping you run into a ball. I would like to see EVERYONE learn how to bunt-or hit behind a runner-or make the pitchers toss you more than five pitches (are you listening Dunn?) but that is 1960s and 1970s thinking. If Mitchell cannot find the strike zone at AAA he will never see the majors. He would be ruined for life within two months.
