The White Sox are back home at U.S. Cellular Field following a 4-3 road trip in Minnesota & Anaheim to start a 8 game homestand this eve. First up, Dustin Pedroia, David "Big Papi" Ortiz & the Red Sox are here for 3 and weather could be an issue for at least 2 of the games scheduled. Thunderstorms are in the forecast tonight & tomorrow.

These mound matchups on paper seem to lean towards Boston, too:

TONIGHT: 7:10P, Comcast SportsNet Chicago & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
BOS: 31 Jon Lester (LHP; 6-0, 2.72 ERA) vs. CHW: 33 Dylan Axelrod (RHP; 1-3, 4.27 ERA)

TUESDAY: 7:10P, WCIU 26 (WGN Sports on The U) & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
BOS: 61 Felix Doubront (LHP; 3-1, 6.03 ERA) vs. CHW: 62 Jose Quintana (LHP; 2-1, 3.97 ERA)

WEDNESDAY: 7:10P, CSNC & 670 The SCORE/White Sox Radio Network
BOS: 11 Clay Buchholz (RHP; 6-0, 1.78 ERA) vs. CHW: 49 Chris Sale (LHP; 5-2, 2.53 ERA)

There was a ground ball to second and Hawk said "ground ball to Beckham." Hawk may be the only person on the planet who wants Beckham back more than I do. Well Robin does too.

Whew. That was some mighty fine pitching by Crain. Now how about getting a few more runs to help the bullpen out a little.

You should get your head examined if you bring Thornton in a close game.

Is it safe to say that the Rios and Peavy deals were the right moves?

Now, Adam Dunn, that possibly may have been a mistake.

In related news, the guy sewing the digits on the back of the Carmine jerseys in the Boston clubhouse has demanded that they start paying him by the letter.

No source, I just made that up for no reason. Bad.

My mistake. SHARK is supposed to be a good speller, but even that one is challenging.

Buchholz's ball isn't moving nearly as much as it did when he had the KY on his arm. They should have at least 4-5 runs against him by now.

I'm glad I stuck around for that last Hawk story because it paid off at the end. "Yaz and I took him out to dinner." Fantastic.

Apparently, Ken Harrelson got so tired of this game, Steve Stone actually did play by play for the final inning of last night's 6-2 White Sox loss to the Red Sox on Comcast SportsNet. Where have we heard this shtick before?
