As much as everyone complained about him, would the Sox have a better record right now if he was running the team instead of Ventura? Maybe last season was just a nice break from Ozzie, and had nothing to do with Robin's influence or ability.

Mt. Guillen would've not only erupted, but he would've rested Alexei Ramirez by now, too. He's started every White Sox game and has only gotten minimal rest this season. No wonder he's struggling defensively!

He played the same amount last season and it didn't affect his defense.

Maybe playing time isn't the issue.

I'm still here, but not as much as before. Alexei has played all but a couple of innings this season. He's not Cal Ripken, Jr., and I feel RV is going to burn him out the more he plays.

cant say what would happen in the long run, but I saw one play the other night, it was a totally botched rundown. Thought it was a replay, as of course Hawk doesnt speak during anything negative Sox (Great ANNOUNCER!) , but I cant imagine Ozzie would have just sat in the dugout after that play, he would just be so incensed he would have a meeting on the mound to go over the issue right there and blame whoever fucked up. Maybe Robin does this? Cant say I have tuned into enough, White Sox ACTION this year to see Robin ever express an ounce of emotion. I am sure Baines takes care of the bad cop stuff.

This is my take on it. Maybe finally realizing that baseball can and did get by quite nicely without him knocked him back down to size. But I think those fucking kids will always be an albatross. If he can't check them, I would expect the same craziness.
