He shouldn't. And I don't think he has been better than Scherzer. You just can't break the game down that way. Yeah, Scherzer team has scored more within the games he's pitched, but it isn't as simple as eliminating half the game and replacing it with different results.

Apologist, do you think a guy should win a Cy Young with a losing record? Can't we find someone else whose pitching resulted in better outcomes for his team regardless of how well you might believe the loser "controlled" the things he can "control"?

They are incredibly similar in every category except W/L. I do agree that in such a circumstance to the victor go the spoils.

I wasn't crazy about Felix winning it, but that was a rare case where his team was so inept offensively as compared to all opponents and his other numbers so overwhelmingly superior that I wouldn't argue with it. That isn't the case with Sale and is rarely the case for anyone. If we're just going to hand the award to the guy with the highest WAR, why even have a vote?
