31 degrees and possible snow tonite in Denver, 68 tomorrow and 75 on Wednesday Would be nice to see them take two of three. Paulino needs to be a lot better, obviously. Chicago White Sox vs. Colorado Rockies Monday Felipe Paulino, RHP For the first time since 2012, Paulino pitched in a big league game during Wednesday's win vs. the Twins, throwing 109 pitches over 5 1/3 and minimizing Minnesota's damage by fanning six. Paulino is 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA over nine games at Coors Field. Jordan Lyles, RHP Lyles, called up when Tyler Chatwood suffered a left hamstring injury, struck out five in five innings while beating the Marlins. He yielded a hit batsman, a walk and a homer in the sixth, and he'll need to prevent such lapses. Tuesday Jose Quintana, LHP It only seems fitting that Quintana should start the season with a no-decision, considering he had 17 of them in '13 and has 28 since '12. He once again pitched well enough to win by allowing two earned runs on five hits over six while fanning eight. Franklin Morales, LHP Wednesday TBA for the Chicago White Sox Juan Nicasio, RHP Nicasio unveiled his split-finger pitch, which he has added to his fastball and slider, and he shut down the D-backs for seven innings on Friday afternoon. Nicasio finished with six strikeouts, and the split forced several grounders. |

interleague games this early seems really odd. 2 out of 3 would be great. If only Sale could pitch in every series. |

There's an interleague series going all the time. 15 teams in AL and 15 in NL now that the Astros are AL. Was the same way last year too. It is odd, but oh well. |

nas once tried to trade me jordan lyles as "the prospect" in a trade for stephen strasburg. you can watch the lyles game and see the bold fresh piece of baseball's future that would seriously make the fighting walgreenses consider dumping the world's most six inning pitcher. |

Boy is it nice having a legitimate CF who can run down balls in the gaps. |

Just an embarrassing effort all around tonight. Lyles is supposed to suck too. Got him looking like Cy Young on the mound and Tony Gwynn at the plate. |

I know its only 2 games but Paulino has shown nothing so far. And he is the #2 starter? Horrible decision by Ventura/Hahn. Bring Rienzo back up. At least he gives the Sox at chance to win without having to score 9 runs. |

At least he gives the Sox at chance to win without having to score 9 runs. I wouldn't call him the "number 2". He's just there to split up the lefties. And I think Beck is the guy who will get the shot rather than Rienzo. |

predictable with Paulino but if you made the decision to start him you have to give him at least a month worth of starts |

Cooper can't fix everyone. My main problem with Paulino is that he had a fairly long record of sucking before the arm trouble. So even a return to his old form isn't really desirable. Coop needs to re-stock the fairy dust... |
