Thursday - 7:10pm Danny Salazar, RHP Making his first start since the Wild Card Game last October, Salazar played damage control in Cleveland's home opener Friday. The righty allowed seven hits and walked three, but only gave up two runs in 5 2/3 innings, in which he struck out four. John Danks, LHP It was a strong 2014 debut for Danks, who allowed three runs over seven innings and 115 pitches in a no-decision Saturday. The southpaw wasn't thrilled with four walks, but he also struck out six Royals and showed better command than he did in '13. Friday - 7:10pm Carlos Carrasco, RHP In his first outing, Carrasco allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings, in which he struck out seven and walked two. Carrasco did, however, allow just one hit to the final 14 Twins batters he faced in Saturday's loss. Chris Sale, LHP Sale broke a three-game White Sox losing streak by shutting down the Royals over eight scoreless innings Sunday, but now he must take on his nemesis from Cleveland. In four starts last year against the Indians, Sale finished 0-4. Saturday - 1:10pm Justin Masterson, RHP Masterson labored Sunday and took a no-decision in Cleveland's loss to Minnesota. After tossing seven shutout innings on Opening Day, he gave up six runs (five earned) on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings. He fanned four, walked three and hit two batters. Felipe Paulino, RHP Paulino lasted just 4 1/3 innings and lost on Monday against Colorado, allowing six runs, nine hits and four walks. He's thrown 208 pitches over 10 2/3 innings in two starts. Sunday - 1:10pm Corey Kluber, RHP vs Jose Quintana, LHP Sox split this 4 game series. Win with Sale, lose with Paulino. Probably lose today with Danks. |

Just gotta hope Masterson is equally bad and we can pull out a 9-7 type game. Hopefully Sale can go 8 the day before so the bullpen is ready to go, not that that's very comforting either. |

holy shit i completely forgot that john danks was on the team, let alone in the rotation. so now that's chris sale and the potential for really solid with quintana, and then the same potential for really solid with danks. so that's 3/5 of the rotation with the other 2 being the equivalent of telling someone in a card game to "go fish." that's better than i thought. idk what to make of cleveland.... you want to believe that they're creeping on teh come up, as you'll see danny salazar tonight and they've got guys like zach mcallister and corey kluber who you think could take a step or two forwards and be solid guys in a solid rotation. and don't look now but trevor bauer looked good yesterday in the 2nd game of the DH (6IP 2ER 8K, W) and if he can turn out to be a "thing" down the road well there you go. their offense doesn't scare me..... kipnis is still too inconsistent to be the kind of guy that you fear.... carlos santana has to be 29-30 by now and they're still trotting out lonnie chisenhall at 3B like it's ~3 years ago or whatever and there's some sizzle to that name. this team could really use a bigtime masher in the middle of that lineup, cuz when your 3-4 hitters are kipnis and santana.... yeah, not that scary. go get 'em whitesox.... this would be a nice time for a sweep cuz it's not like justin masterson has been pitching all that well to start the season, and if you can win the paulino game you've got the pitching matchups set assuming that danks can at least match salazar tonight. |

I'm disappointed Friday is Carrasco v. Sale. Originally it was scheduled to be Masterson/Sale. That would've been a great duel. |

Stoney just said, "Bellasario is getting beaten like a rented donkey." It just sounded hilarious. |

sinicalypse wrote: they're still trotting out lonnie chisenhall at 3B like it's ~3 years ago or whatever Last I heard, they were committed to at least trying Santana as the 3B. I don't really follow the Indian, so maybe that didn't take. One thing I do know, they love Yan Gomes. |

chisenhall has had a great start and he's still young. Yes, Santana is long term 3rd but he's caught in both double headers they've had. |

Hey, he's out pitching his opponent though. What he's supposed to do. Defense has helped him a little too. But he's settled down pretty decently since the 1st, the solo HR being the exception. |

17 game losing streak against the Tribe broken! Best part about last night was that the 'pen gave up 0 runs. Lets hope that is the start of something positive for them. |

Nice to see Sale get back to back K's to get out of that but I hope his control isn't an issue all game long. If he can't go into the 7th we'll likely be in trouble. I know Tank's hitting this year so far, but De Aza hasn't done shit since that opening series. I hope we see Danks starting pretty soon to at least see what he's got. |

Alexei and Flowers continue to get it done. I understand the value of having a bat at the bottom of the order, but I wouldn't mind seeing Alexei bat 2nd. |
