On August 26, 2012 the White Sox under Robin Venture and Kenny Williams led the AL Central by 2.5 games with a 71-55 record, This marked the high water mark of his tenure. Since that date Kenny got promoted and Robin got extended and the Sox signed a HUGE International free agent.

Resulting in
2012 14-22
2013 63-99
2014 36-44

for a combined 113-165 record

During this same time period the failed and flawed Northside plan has been mocked and ridiculed by many on this message board... This failure has resulted in the manager fired...and according to many here has generally have just stumbled along aimlessly..spending no noticeable money.

and they have gone
2012 13-24
2013 66-96
2014 33-44

for a combined record of 112-164

Please compare and contrast for us uneducated the vast difference between 113-165 "reload on the fly" and 112-164 "rebuild from the ground up"

Be sure to point out what makes the Southside arrow point WAY UP while the Northside arrow is crashing like the 1929 stock market.

Why do Cubs fans always make it about the Cubs vs. Sox?

I think we can agree that both teams suck.

It's a rough time for the White Sox but I do like the direction they are going and what they have set themselves up to be able to do next year. This year is sadly already lost and all the excuses in the world don't really make that fact any different.

I still think they end the season around .500, which would be an improvement. They better spend some money in the offseason though.

When the Sox purposely lose 300 games in 3 seasons, let me know.

This is a fair point too. I think anyone can understand a 2 year rebuild. When you get to year 3 and all signs pointing to the rebuild going into year 4 the equation changes.

The difference is that all of the Sox future is currently in their first year of MLB producing at a rate indicative that each will be legitimately good to great. It is understood that when you choose to go the route of playing younger players at the MLB level, you exchange on field success in the short term for player development that will result in wins in the long term.

The Sox ARE what the Cubs hope to be in two years. When the Cubs are what the currently are, the Sox will be contending for a world series again.

I will say this. 329 combined losses over the last 9-10 months of baseball is fucking pitiful for a market like Chicago.

The difference is that the Sox are trying to win games at the major league level with the best young players they have in the organization. And they're failing as expected. The Cubs are saying that they're trying to win games but have constructed a major league roster to do nothing other than increase the probability to lose games to increase their draft status or showcase players to trade for prospects. So basically the Cubs are pissing on your head and telling you it's raining while the White Sox are pissing on your head and telling you they're pissing on your head.

Bigfan abandoned Teelander very soon after it became common knowledge that the latter belonged to the former.

Same thing happened with another bigfan special, your old friend halfpint.

What about not purposely losing 300 games in 3 seasons? October 2015 isn't that far away.
