Whattaya think? I kinda like the guy. As a RH DH, not too bad. Wonder what he'll get paid.

No. He is barely on pace for 25 HRs and 70 RBI. That is not good enough for the amount of times he strikes out.

I would rather flyer on Ryan Howard after Phillies release him.

Hatchetman is only 2nd to JORR in posters I would have least likely expected to make this thread. And hell no, to answer the question.

He doesn't really post much anymore, but Aggravated Bob was the guy least likely to make this thread. HATCHETMAN WANTS TO BRING BACK THE OAF!???

Why not see what Dave Kingman or Rob Deer are up to while you're at it?

How's a bout a flyer on Thurman Munson?

... too soon? ...

I mean he's not that terrible compared to DeAza, Beckham, Flowers, et al. He's the third best hitter on the team!

Sure I'd love to have six new guys in the lineup next year, but that's not gonna happen.

Bullpen could take a flyer on Cory Lidle.

True..... fuck. Kirkwood's right. The Sox are never gonna make the playoffs again.

Thank god this is about a contract. For a minute I thought this was a political endorsement.

I once drafted Andy Pettitte in a fantasy league and my opponent and archnemisis, the late Howard Doyle "Mr. Baseball" Abernathy referred to him as "a man whose name matches his talent". I got to return the favor by using the same joke when Howard selected Cory Lidle in a later round.

That sounds like a joke Reggie Jackson would have made, when he bitterly realized that Thurman was the heart and soul of that team, and that he (Reggie Jackson) was a phony and not a true Yankee ballplayer.

If he took about half of his current salary, I'd be interested. His OBP is pretty good, despite his HR numbers starting to decline. If they can left handed power somewhere else, that's the preferable solution, but I don't think a 1 year deal is the worst idea.

Zero interest in a home run hitter who can't hit home runs.

Right after your Bernstein logic. he is 2-15.....the only two people in Chicago that like him are you and Bernsie!
