IDK, these late deals generally save you little money and get little back in return. |

That's true, but there's really no purpose for him on this roster so getting anything for him is gravy. He's never played in the playoffs either, hard to see him blocking a trade to a contender. |

Hahn was too late on these moves, I think he believed that this team could make a run ..smh The Sox spent as much as the Mariners n Royals...I don't think payroll was the issue. They spent almost twice as much as the Marlins (47mill) They out spent Oakland n Cleveland n Pittsburgh , The Orioles spent 111 Million ...far less than Boston or N.Y. who won't be playing any post season ball. |

Why is Hahn TOO LATE on these moves?? You can't force other teams to accept your garbage??? Other teams are NOT stupid. Let the Sox pay them for another month...... What is Hahn going to say.......This is JULY....the trading deadline....TAKE MY STIFFS NOW OR I WONT GIVE YOU THE CHANCE NEXT MONTH????? |

I have to say OAF DUNN was the worst Sox player I have seen here over an extended period of time in my life. Swisher was only here for one season. Hahn is cleaning up the huge mess WIN NOW RED ASS Kenny Williams created. I am amazed that on air jackasses would tell people Dunn was VALUABLE based on OPS or any other BULLSHIT STATISTIC. I sure hope STATHEAD Bernstein has figured out STRIKEOUTS ARE A BAD THING. All of this WALKS are the greatest bullshit, too. A WALK does not drive in a run unless the bases are loaded. Batting average is IMPORTANT. Hits are IMPORTANT. |

I always liked Dunn, in spite of his struggles. He was a great guy to have around in clubhouse. This had to happen, and the Sox yanked a real arm out of Oakland's system! Let's get rid of Danks now. |

This was BP's take on Sanburn at the start of the season. He was Oakland's #9 prospect. 9. Nolan Sanburn Position: RHP DOB: 07/21/1991 Height/Weight: 6’0” 175 lbs Bats/Throws: R/R Drafted/Acquired: 2nd round, 2012 draft, Kokomo HS (Kokomo, IN) Previous Ranking: #6 (Org) 2013 Stats: 1.38 ERA (26 IP, 17 H, 20 K, 9 BB) at Low-A Beloit, 2.25 ERA (4 IP, 3 H, 6 K, 1 BB) at complex level AZL The Tools: 6 FB (7 out of ‘pen); 5+ SL; 6 potential CB What Happened in 2013: A shoulder injury stalled the start to his season, and the diminutive righty worked out of the bullpen upon his, trying to build up the arm strength that made him a second-round pick in 2012. Strengths: High-end arm strength; can work the fastball 90-94; has touched the upper 90s before in bursts (when healthy); could offer plus-plus velocity out of the bullpen; can work to both sides of the plate; hard 12-6 curveball; good sightline pitch; flashes plus and will eventually get there; SL could be second plus breaking ball; thrown in the 83-84 range with tilt; effective against right-handers; shows changeup; late-innings mentality. Weaknesses: Injuries slowed development in rotation; limited height; lacks projection; delivery has effort; fastball can lack plane; struggles to hold his stuff; relief arsenal at present. Overall Future Potential: High 5; no. 3/4 starter Realistic Role: 5; late-innings reliever (setup) Risk Factor/Injury History: High risk; shoulder injury on resume; limited professional record. Bret Sayre’s Fantasy Take: Not a high upside play for fantasy, as the odds of him both reaching the majors with success and making his way into a position for saves is a daunting task. He’s likely not a big strikeout reliever without a plus secondary pitch, which limits his value across the board. The Year Ahead: Staying healthy and on the mound is key, as Sanburn’s setback with the shoulder shifted his already debatable long-term projection towards a relief future. With a stressful delivery and a potential power arsenal, it’s easy to see the short-in-stature Sanburn as a late-innings reliever. But let’s see what happens if he can get back into a rotation, log innings, build up his arsenal, and refine his command. The ceiling is higher if he can start, but the arsenal offers impact potential even if he finds a home in the bullpen. |

Just so everyone knows, that scouting report basically says Nolan Sanburn is the best reliever the White Sox have. |

The Oaf was just so endearing. After his first disaster of a season here he stated his off season workouts consisted of drinking beer and hunting. Before the 2013 debacle of a season he announced in Spring Training that he was changing his approach to hitting. He was going to swing at a spot early in the count. Wonder if he closed his eyes!! |

Dunn just reminded me of me. "Yea I suck at what I do, but I'm not gonna be a bad dude about it." Anyone who shows such wanton disregard for their work place productivity but still is appreciated by his boss and coworkers earns immediate respect from me. If I were an MLB player on that contract you better believe I'd spend my winter getting drunk and shooting shit. |

I am surprised they didn't keep him. I know the sabermetrics guys kept saying that he would eventually regress towards his mean. Maybe he just needed another 3-5 years for that to happen. Seriously though, I don't know what the White Sox expected to get from him. As a Cubs fan, I watched him hit a lot of home runs, but they were mostly solo home runs with Cincinnati and can't remember too many of them impacting the outcome. |

Schuster & Esposito are pinch hitting for M & H this morning. They are taking one word texts from listeners which best describe Dunn's career with the Sox. Some of them include: terrible, lumox, disappointing, rich, bad, whiff... Esposito said that most of the texts can't be read over the air! Edit: They just passed along Dunn's final numbers and how much he was paid for each category - as reported in The Trib(?) today... $528k per Home Run (106 Total) $201k per RBI (278 Total) $150k per Hit (371 Total) $77k per Strike Out (720 Total) D'oh! |

At least the White Sox didn't give Dunn a 6 or 7 year deal. I just hope they don't make a similar mistake on Victor Martinez this off-season. |
