Has never really seemed to want the job, doesn't appear to be any good at it. Uncle jerry just pay him to go away? |

They have to. It shouldn't even be a question. |

I would not be against this, provided they actually replace him with a guy who has some MLB coaching or at least minor league managing experience. |

I think Robin will willingly step aside. I don't think his heart is in it. |

no unless he wants to quit. JR will never hire a real manager. |

Was this thread created just to give the impression that anyone gives a shit about the Sox? |

If Ozzie wanted to come back (and KW would let it happen) I'd do that in a heartbeat. No Ozzie? Meh leave Robin where he is. He's actually not a bad manager. The biggest problem I had with him this year was playing Abreu on a bad foot until he got so bad Abreu had to be DL'd. I thought that was pretty irresponsible, and I'd like to think he's learned to tell his players "no." There's no a skipper in the game who could've made it work with those BP arms he had. |

Joe Orr and I have posted about this, and talked about it in person more than once. We both believe that Ozzie will manager the Sox again (at least once ) within the next 8-12 years or so. |

If Robin is the manager next year they don't intend to compete. |

I assume you know some good people, some you might even like, they are witty and good guys to hang out with. Would you out of the blue call tham and ask them to run your company when they showed almost 0 interest before that? And deny the claim all you want, but kenny picked him with the thought of trying to show everyone the manager never mattered and Ozzie wasn't the reason for a good team. Similar to the Dukes picking Billy Ray to manage their company! |

With Oz I think the Sox make it in in 2012. 13 wouldve been an unimitaged disaster no matter what. This year would've been rough either way, maybe they would've hung around a little longer but they don't have the horses after Q and Sale to do anything. Ozzie was the bullpen whisperer though. I'll always give him that, this bunch may have broken him (they are so fucking bad), but he turned shit into water into wine a lot. |

Since "The Chairman" is incestuous ...it will have to be someone from the organization or ex player......I'm going with Joey Cora...stretch! |

Just can't believe 50% of what Hahn says these days, because he has someone in his ear all the time. |

That contract extension still pisses me off. It was unnecessary, as Robin wasn't going anywhere else and undeserved, as he was coming off a 99 loss year. We would have been rid of him now and been able to make a fresh start with these young guys. The thing you always have to remember about JR teams is that he refuses to negotiate with agents for management and only reluctantly does so with players. This results in guys who are either desperate retreads or inexperienced applying for the job. Sometimes it ends up being a lottery ticket as you saw with Phil, Thibs, Ozzie and to a degree Kenny. Many other times you get Robin, Vinny, Cartwright, etc. |
