Enjoy him now. When he hits free agency, he is long gone. Look at the money that was thrown around this year for marginal talent. Gary Matthews Jr. got a huge deal just on his bat. Now what do you suppose the going rate will be for a 3B who can hit, field and hit homers? Only one or two teams will be able to afford him and one of them won't be the White Sox.

One year deal! That is a clear indication to me that he intends to enter free agency, as there is no way Boras signs a long term deal next year...NO WAY! I am sure KW is quietly looking at deals, and I wholeheartedly back him on this.

it's a good signing....especially if they get to the WS again.
Josh Fields is the 3rd baseman of the future.....at least, that is what I (F)infer, from a Kenny standpoint.

Peter Gammons is reporting the Sox talked to LAA about a Crede for Erick Aybar trade. I guess these trade rumors are never going away unless Crede signs a long term deal. LAA is an interesting potential trade partner because they need a 3B and are STACKED at SS. I thought KW would go for Cabrera but that was before I realized he wanted to win the WS in '10 rather than '07.
