Sox signed Gordon Beckham to a 1 year contract today to serve as a backup infielder/spot starter if needed. Guess Hahn wasn't readly for the Micah Johnson Experience. Also, Tank Vicedo was DFAed to clear a roster spot. Have 10 days to trade him or kill him. Or something like that. |

I cannot believe nobody is taking a chance at him. At the beginning of the offseason I knew he was gone but also certain that wherever he went he would have at least an all-star first half. The guy can hit, I've seen it. |

I don't worry too much about Kris Bryant in LF. He has played there in high school and college, and looked fine in the little Spring Training I saw. One excellent throw, and another heads up play backing up third. Also, he seems to be more of an 'athlete' than Viciedo. But this thread isn't about Kris Bryant JORR. |

And his defense won't be appreciably better in left than Viciedo's. |

I guess I'll have to just focus on the important things like... good player versus bad player. I won't feel as if I need to break down the portions of Bryant's game that aren't considered top-tier when Cubs baseball is likely to be very successful. I'll just have too positive of an attitude. |

Viciedo had a cannon arm. Top tier. Just no glove, no instincts, lazy, no range... |

I think it would make Alex Gordon into an MVP candidate while Miguel Cabera is merely an exceptionally great 1st basemen. Little different than comparing Dayan f'in Viciedo to the newest Cub's strikeout machine. |
