It looks like Kenny is paving the way for a potential Ozzie Guillen 2- Electric Boogaloo.

You mean he's not too busy sailing his yacht around Europe on the 4+mil/yr that loria is prolly still paying him?

As an expos fan that just warms the cackles of my heart. I've said it b4 and i'll say it again, baggage/burnout factor duly noted this guy can manage my baseball team. Its not like he was technically wrong about castro y'know!

Well, they talked before the home opener and Kenny made a big point of saying how they've been friends since they were 18 years old and they've had ups and downs and they'll always be friends. I'm sure you can find it online.

Also, Kenny went out of his way to say all kinds of positive stuff about Guillen in Believe. He almost wept when he talked about the photo with Ozzie's arm around his head.

Kenny is not the barrier to Ozzie's triumphant return. Never has been.

However, the Chairman has gotten particularly weepy and senile so they may be able to sneak it past him. I dont know how they get Robin out, though.

No problem. You savard the guy and win some championships right?

I need to find a way to watch Believe. As you know, I'm a big fan of 2005.

They'll either play good enough and there will be no need. Or they'll be bad and forced to make a change.

The greatest run in baseball post-season history(tied).

He also said he wasn't going to go to the Championship Parade until Jerry made him go.

I thought 'Believe' was pretty cool. I wish they would have talked to more of the bullpen guys, and Contreras who was IMO the biggest key to them winning the division, but overall very well done. While they glorified the Indians during their white hot run in the second half of 2005, they kind of painted the Sox as a shitty, struggling team for the better part of the second half. Post AS game, they were 11-6 in July, overall it was a bad August but at 4 games under .500 it was not a killer, and they won 19 games in September (3 of which after they clinched the division). Overall, 43-34 post AS game is not bad by any means. Cleveland was just absolutely red hot for about 6 weeks.

Oh, Joe Crede got downright fat since he hung up his spikes

Freaking love the use of "savard" as a verb. Kudos!

KW is a liar and an asshole, perpetually trying to portray the image of a tough guy

what makes it even more annoying is that he pretty much sucked as a major leaguer.

My favorite Ozzie Guillen White Sox manager moments:
1) Describing the rats at Wrigley as weight lifters
2) The Bobby Jenks call to the bullpen
3) Choke symbol

Plenty of things I disliked about Ozzie. His act got old, but he was brilliant at turning the media focus to him when his team struggled.

Robin is not a good manager, but he is not the problem with the team. The least of my concerns is with the manager.

I hated Ozzie's Sunday lineups, but that's about all I can think of managerial wise that bothered me.

I was disappointed to see him go the way he did, and would love to see him manaying this club again, but it would probably be a bad thing if they were already making preparations for it. I say probably because I kind of get the feeling that Ventura is one who is liable to walk away even if 2015-2016 are successful, just because.

That said, I would still be somewhat surprised to see this.

Awfully forgiving of a guy that literally gave up and ran out on his team.

Yes. And Renteria was offered a different position with the Cubs.

IIRC, didn't Ozzie say he had been talking to the Marlins for years?
Or something to that effect?

I think AJ would be the next in line former Sox who isn't currently considering being a manager

I'm just objecting that he ran out on the team.

Things weren't going well with him here and he had worn out his welcome.

The idea would be that maybe he has been humbled a little. I think 2005 may have gone to his head a little.

The board consensus at the time was that he was running out on his team. He talked of the Marlins job in September. He was released early, immediately signed. Was it Oney that posted still in September that he was taking the Marlins job? I think he did.
Ozzie ran out on the team.

No, you're right. It was a pretty shitty way to make an exit. But those were some good years, and that's probably why I could overlook the way it ended. Except 2007, with Jerry Owens, Darrin Erstad, and Andy Gonzalez.
