While I would have done a ton of things different to this point and I am SURE Hahn would have to....the direction of the organization is going in mutiple directions...

if you are Jerry and in your 80's and have billions to your name, why would you want to rebuild? reload? etc????? I understand that...

if you are a 45 year old GM in your first gig, knowing the organization has ignored basic fundamentals of stats for years...you want to build the team...

Then you have the Ex GM who was going to work on "special" projects and basically moved his way back into the GM position because he thought they had a chance to win....if this team was rebuilding, Kenny is nowhere to be found.

Oh yea, lets not forget the manager who is just starting to like the job....

Normally, I would make a suggestion, I wouldnt just rip them....but have to say not sure what the right thing to do so....but if I was Jerry, I would order them to get rid of the dead weight...LaRoche, melky, Shark, and YES..EATON! Who by the way isnt better than Chris Denorfia and signing him was a joke....then I would RELOAD and I know it costs me $40 mill more than I want to spend, might even take an operating loss, but I just dont care because I am worth over $1 bill....and its not my money anyways....

they are completely fucked with bottom five organizational talent. might as well sell off what you can and try to rebuild. nobody is coming to the games and you suck big time anyway. what's the downside?

It's a long season. Both Melky and LaRoche could bounce back. This team seems to be very inconsistent but I feel the hitting will improve.

they kinda are rebuilding. 2 straight top ten picks and this year's pick will be pretty decent. the avi trade has worked well.

it just seems even the slight appearance of a rebuild forces everyone to take stupid pills. how else do you explain the samardzija trade?

I don't think the Sox are in that bad of shape.

Ya got Abreu , Sale, Rodon and Quintana and Robertson . Avi Garcia reminds me of Carlos Quentin..I see him being injured often .

You got to stop bringing guys who just ain't that good in the N.L. to The A.L . it doesn't work . Laroche n Shark I'm speaking of .

Ya have to get rid of Samardiza and Laroche and Beckham ..Alexi ..Eaton and get a legit catcher . Fire Ventura .

Laroche is doing exactly his career average. not sure what people are complaining about with him.

He should be playing 1B and Abreu DH.

This thread title should be changed to "Bad Sox Thoughts By Casual Cubs Fans"

The Sox are in year 3 of rebuilding and will likely have a high draft pick again next year. The difference is they were trying to win the last two years and this year, but are ending up with the same results as a team like the Cubs who were trying to lose for 4 years.

You think Jerry is worth billions? Excluding the value of his teams, which he has to split with investors, I would guess Jerry is worth 300 million. But maybe I'm wrong.

yeah, you're wrong...but he goes out of his way to not let his wealth known. he is right around the BILL mark....he owns half the UC. That isnt a partnership.

Doesn't Forbes release a list of billionaires every year? I don't think I've ever seen Reinsdorf on that list. Jordan just recently became a billionaire.

The sensible thing is to Rebuild, but once again, if YOU have the money, do you go for it if YOU are in your 80's? AKA the Illitch Plan?

I know I would....

Over the weekend I heard that the last home grown outfielder to play for the Sox was Brian Anderson.

That might be true, but once again, who cares now, if I hit my 80's....either I am selling the team or really RELOADING....

Problem with relying on FA's. They are FA's for a reason.

They have drafted so poorly, that they can't be buyers either. If they wanted to go get a stud at the deadline, they have nothing on the farm to offer.

He's got a title. I don't think he cares that much. I think they spent some dough this year on a gamble that it would eventually improve cash flow, not that Jerry was dying for another title.

can my michigan/harvard/northwestern educated GM use all that money to make better decisions than signing melky?

Yeah, he's gonna end up about .250, 25 homers, 80-85 RBI and a whole lot of walks.

This site says Jerry's worth 350 million.

http://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-businessmen/jerry-reinsdorf-net-worth/

Granted, this doesn't account for the Bulls being worth 2 billion and the Sox value of 800 million.

Wikipedia says Jerry is worth 1.31 billion. And Wikipedia is never wrong. So Big Fan wins. I lose.

I'll take the under ..I'm thinking

.244
19 hr
73 RBI

What's really killin the Sox is Eaton and his abysmal obp . Melkman sucks , Two pretty predictable outcomes . Hahn is not the right man for the job .
