As if we didn't know this was coming... I thought it'd be WGN but I knew they were done with the Score.

I was hoping for WGN just so we could watch the sycophants at both SCR and GN switch their long held allegiances on a dime

Look at it this way, at least they will bump Michael Savage for most nights through the Season.

Then again you might accidentally tune him in thinking the Sox are on. :drunken:

Even though I'm a lifelong Cubs fan, I want the White Sox to do well 156 games out of the year. I like to listen when Ed/DJ are not a complete train wreck, I usually go to 1-2 games a year, and I follow the team casually. Hopefully WLS will give them more attention. I don't know when the Bulls' radio contract ends, but maybe it ends up being a package someday.

Of course, you could possibly end up with Chet Coppock doing pre/post as he does with his Notre Dame baseball coverage, so that could be, um, interesting.

I do hope that everybody involved comes to their senses and find a way to get Dave Wills out of Tampa. The pairing of Dave with Andy Freed (who was previously the Boston Red Sox' AAA affiliate's broadcaster) is superior to Ed and DJ in every conceivable way.

I was hoping it would be WGN as well. Sometimes WLS can be tough to tune in down here in the Illinois Valley. Darn Sox can't even get this right.

You don't get 1430 AM down there? Ottawa?

The White Sox and 670, whether WMAQ or WSCR, go back pretty far. The Sox have been on 670 for 35 seasons since 1967. It's not quite the Cubs/720 relationship, but it's still pretty significant to me. I would have liked for both teams to stay with both stations.

WLS and WGN do not broadcast in HD but the CBS AM stations do. Makes a huge difference in the listening experience. Maybe this will prompt WLS to upgrade, who knows.

Sure, we do, don.

Godfella Quirk #106... I prefer to listen to the Sox on the flagship station. Why?

1. Too many local commercials/PSA's/info during Sox broadcasts.

2. There are times when Sox Radio Network affiliates cut out of the post game coverage early.

3. I want to hear Chicago stuff when I listen to a Chicago game.

That's just me - I know that it's quirky and weird but there it is.

The times when WLS 890 AM is not very clear, I will tune in locally.

I don't think Farmio is going anywhere. He's part of the family.

I honestly do not know why any station pays for sports team's rights to radio. The teams should just do the buy time method and sell their own spots. Maybe CH knows but who really listens to games on the radio consistently? It is usually in a car or while doing other things. Oh well just a thought.
