Did Sale need an extra day? or was this a marekting attempt to tug on the dark hearts of Sox fans living in the past?

Yeah. This should be a draw. It won't be, though. Me, my sister and my Dad have a small bet on the attendance tomorrow.

I said 21k. My sister says 25k. My Dad thinks 30k. We wrote down are numbers and showed them to each other. Closest to the number wins. I'm gonna win this bet.

Believe me, if I knew it was that pitching matchup, I would have gone to the Sox game instead.

Yes. Its something the Sox have done several times in the past 3 season with Sale. With the rainout last roadtrip, Rodon hadn't pitched in a week so it was a bonus to get him a start as well.

As much as some Cubs fans would like to believe, and as dumb as Ventura is, there is absolutely no way he was looking at the newspapers trying to get a marquee matchup. Sometimes things just happen to work out like this in MLB.

According to the radar, rain will hit Chicago right around 7pm. So they will not start it on time. Could be 2 or 3 hours of rain so they might just bang it.

Even if they play, the threat of rain is gonna hurt a walk up crowd. So my prediction of 21k will be right. I mean that will be tickets sold for this one. But it will be less than that in the park cuz people will say "Fuck it" and not go knowing it's gonna rain tonight and they have to sit through delays.

It is currently raining in Elk Grove Village. I'm almost on a perfect E-W line from Wrigley Field. It will start raining there by 3pm unless the storm decides to take a sharp turn.

Tickets sold (Announced crowd) will at least be 30k.

Amount of people at the game will be around 20k.

Now they're saying the rain might hold off until 9:30 or 10:00. So maybe they get this in.

It would suck if Sale has 9 strikeouts when the rain delay comes.

hope he gets 9 and the Sox get the W in a rain-shortened game. so I can quit hearing about this stupid "record."

I find the Pippen-midget Kerfuffle interesting.

Randy Johnson has the record for a season for Strikeouts per 9 innings at 13.4. Sale has 12.3 this season so far. But he started off poorly. Kerry Wood is 3rd with a 12.5

Well, assuming he goes 9 innings, he's got 18 outs to get 9 Ks. Gonna be tough. Especially against the best lineup in MLB. They're not really hitting him but they're good enough to make contact.

Not the corners. But it's a decent crowd. Maybe 28k. I was wrong. Thought it would only be 21k.
