While he loves to mention it and show off his ring, it kills him internally as he knows it wasnt his team and he knows everyone in the organization feels the same way, thus he wanted to win again more than anything. He wanted to win without Ozzie, without Gilbert, Hemond, Schuler...Kenny was the GM...but he knows he didnt find the players, make the deals, etc. kenny made the calls, brought the bagels to the meetings and talked to the press. Schuler and Hemond made the calls, Gilbert and Reinsdorf approved the deals.... Isnt it evident at this point the way Kenny refers to and publicly treats Hahn, that at some point, Kenny was treated or felt he was treated the same way? |

That is an interesting analysis and I don't discount it out of hand. However, Kenny was the one who initiated the most important player moves in that season (the El Caballo trade). The trade, in turn, allowed for key acquisitions like AJ by freeing up money. In my opinion, that was Kenny's team |
